Factions I canā€™t comment as I donā€™t know much about the new augments. Kymon has an augment which has 2% DA and 10% damage reduction to enemies, but I dislike them a lot. :smiley:

Really enjoyed reading the guide, and thank you for making it, but I ended up with a few questions.

1: How does this compare to akdongs setup? http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68097 The fire vs lightning thing seems to be the biggest difference, but how would they perform compared to each other in general? They both look easy to play, which is very important for me due to a disability, so a bit unsure which one to use? Yours definitely seems more up to date though, unless Iā€™m mistaken.

2: Why lightning over fire? I was under the impression that purifier excelled at fire and a different combo would have been better for lightning? I could easily be wrong here though.

3: I saw the playstyle video on akdongs build but still feel I should ask just in case. is the build more or less just holding the attack key while inserting another skill every now and then when you feel itā€™s needed? Iā€™ve never played a ranged build so really not sure how it plays.

4: You mentioned you didnā€™t want to do super bosses so I feel the need to ask, can this build clear all content or would it need to be vastly changed? I noticed you mentioned it may need changing to do so but that was a while ago, figured I would ask just in case. I would very much prefer a simple ā€œone buttonā€ build that can clear 100% of the games content (maybe impossible?) and this build seems pretty darn close to that?

5: Iā€™ve seen some people with paladin ideas that look very similar to purifier build, but since itā€™s a new tree no real info yet. You obviously have experience with this build so was just wondering your opinion on the idea.

  1. AKDONGā€™s setup is a fully decked out endgame build while this is (or at least I stopped at) an incomplete build that is more of a guideline on what to do before you reach that part. In terms on endgame prowess, both akdongā€™s build and the lightning build this was supposed to become are both outdated as a lot has changed since then, so a comparison cannot be made as of this moment. However the concepts remain the same so you can try updating it yourself or wait for someone to make an updated build before we compare.

  2. Because it was exciting. Remember that demo also supports lightning and that lightning RR is supported by both masteries.

  3. Yes

  4. By the time I stopped? No. But a full fledged dagallon lightning purifier should work both in campaign and cruci. Canā€™t estimate how far it will go in realms cause that part hasnā€™t been figured out yet.

  5. Fire strike > any other Auto attack on DW ranged.

Would it be possible for you to make a grimcalc build?
I am new and started on this expansion and followed this guide.
Iā€™d very much like it if you could make a lvl 9-100,with the end-game gear and if possible what would it look on a fresh account build to farm the said end-game gear:).

Thanks for the replies. Would you say lightning or fire is better in the long run? At first glance, especially with all those Your build only really ends up with lightning info as far as I can tell so I have no idea how to build a fire version :stuck_out_tongue:

Iā€™m really not experienced enough to know which one would end up being stronger. Heck, I see a ton of people going on about 2H versions (which you did mention) but I do love me some pistols and Iā€™mā€¦fairly certainā€¦that pistols benefit you more with proc spam?

Lightning. Balance rings got nerfed to the ground and thereā€™s no good substitute for fire imo.

Thanks. Still surprised lightning scales better considering so much of our damage is fire, but zappy it is :smiley:

Silly question maybe but do you rely entirely on your gear for your cunning to equip stuff?

Is there a good lightning set of gear to aim for?

One other question, what is the actual benefits of 2H vs double pistol? I see so many different versions of purifier but most of them are pretty out of date.
