DW Purifier Help

Hey guys -

A little bit of a newbie here. I’m trying to roll a good DW Purifier and this is what I have so far - https://www.grimtools.com/calc/JVlkv952

No equipment but, the skills/devotions and attribute points are exactly as how I have it on my character in the game.

Any tips? I got to the point where they first issue you with the skeleton key and I melted.

Wondering what I could do to increase my survivability.

Check out the first two buttons in the calculator’s navigation bar to upload and share chars with equipment. Much more convenient and also more informative.

Try to aim for about 100+ health per character level. Putting more points in the mastery bar also helps a lot - rule of thumb: every second skill point until level 40 to 50. But get Inquisitor Seal for the damage absorption and put two or three points into Bursting Round to increase the activation chance.

Shortly after the skeleton door you find the Chamber of Souls, which might be were you died. Skip that place until you feel more comfortable with the Steps of Torment. Complete Fiend before you try the dungeon again.

Got it! I tried to do that, but, apparently, I can’t find my saves - so, that’s the problem. Anyway, yeah, you’re right, I got completely melted in Chamber of Souls, so, I got a little bit eh about it.

I can go ahead and re-arrange my skill points in a bit, but, my question is, should I be focusing on any one class for now? Like Inquis or Demo until I max the mastery bar? What type of load out would you recommend from what you’ve seen? Any strong deviations from how I’ve assigned skills?

You probably find the gdc file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdatafolder of numbers\219990\remote\save\main_char name

Assuming you want to activate Storm Spread, I would focus on Inquisitor for now. Occasionally put a point into Flashbang / Searing Light. But your devotion might benefit of some changes then. Do you aim for piercing / fire / lightning damage, or shall it be chaos instead of lightning?

Also, I’m looking towards Fire damage more than anything. Any tips and tricks? Especially on what I should be looking out for when it comes to equipment?

Then you want to focus on items, which convert physical damage to fire - e.g. put Searing Ember in your other gun.

You should have crafted a relic by now - Ruination or Gunslinger’s Talisman come to mind.

And I recommend to put a component in your belt which adds armor - e.g. Antivenom Salve or Dense Fur (has to be crafted). That is bonus armor for all slots.

Edit: I made a draft for how I would assign devotion points.
