While reading the forum, I had a small cosmetic idea.
Add a customizable epithet shown under the character name.
This would be purely flavor with no gameplay effects, stat bonuses, or progression advantages. Players could freely edit it to define their character identity.
For example:
- Marcus
“The Red Apron”
- Elena
“Bone Collector”
- Darius
“Seeker of Forgotten Paths”
As an optional addition, the game could also provide lore-friendly epithets through achievements and milestones as selectable presets, while keeping full player freedom intact.
For example, defeating major bosses, completing Acts, reaching Nemesis status, or clearing Ultimate difficulty could unlock titles such as:
- “Krieg’s Bane”
- “Champion of Cairn”
- “The Unbroken”
A small pool of randomly generated lore-friendly epithets could also help players who want ideas.

The preset ones from achievements sound like a cool idea.

It may often come of miniscule but can go long ways for immersions. It’s like with games where you can craft your items (and tinker with them) and allowing you to name them. Even for singleplayer games it can add value.
Cool idea. Being one of the few ARPGs that has a gender option it is already ahead of the game in this aspect 
GD2 needs to have titles, and some bosses could also have tailored voice lines for the depending on what your character’s ego decided was appropriate to swan around Cairn calling themself.

I think games should have negative titles that you can’t get rid of. So, if you act in a certain way you get tagged with “coward” or “asshole” and there’s nothing you can do about it.

There’s already an entire mode for cowards, it’s called softcore.
(I’m not serious, enjoying SC is ok, just wanted to joke about it).
