Eldritch Fire precise mechanics

Hello,

Yesterday i was trying to figure out how exactly Eldritch Fire works and i end up with some questions.

  1. If i understand correctly, when it procs it gives you a 4sec [X fire + X chaos damage DoT] + 4sec [reduce fire/chaos resistance + reduce movement speed]
  2. The icon on the target of the debuff is a broken shield right ?
  3. If i apply it on a spell like Demon’s Breath, it seems to work properly.
But things get wierd when applied for example on Flash Bang. I anticipated two possible result from Flash Bang.
—a. Eldritch fire doesn’t proc. As Flash Bang is not an “Attack”, no damage, it should not proc.
—b. Eldritch fire does proc. Even if no damage Flash bang is considered as an attack. and it’s fine.
But what is wierd is that i don’t get any of these two possibilites. I get a 3rd one:
—c. Half of Eldritch fire procs… On the target the DoT is appied. But not the fire/chaos/movement speed debuff. i don’t get the “Broken shield” icon on the target.

Is this a normal behavior (Which is stupid) ? Or a bug ?

Thanks for your help

Flash Bang has lower CD compared to Demon Breath, so the chance to trigger Eldrich Fire is lower. Since it is rolled on every mob separately you will get it on some mobs and not on others.

On the debuff part I am not sure what is going on. Can you make a video?

The FX of Eldritch Fire is this purple fire on the enemy.

Flashbang is an attack and it does proc eldritch fire. B is the correct answer.
