elementalist, fire strike vs savagery

what would be best for a 2 handed user. I think that fire strike gives good damage for both fire and lightining and savagery have nice buffs and att spd, what do t.t

looks like fire strike is stronger

not true… it depends on what your wanting to achieve. which element you want to focus on.

you could do 2h range with primal strike and be just as viable. Arguably more viable due to how primal strike chains targets. So the debate would really be brought down to what element and what weapon you want.

Savagery is good but not the end all of shaman. Primal Strike is much better. but still goes back to you deciding what you want to play.

I have just started ultimate on a 2H Fire Strike Elementalist and I must say that FS is best suited for dual wielding because every node in the branch is a n% chance to do x damage.

Sure, you get to see bigger damage numbers and crits with it compared to Savagery but the Demolitionist-oriented late game 2-handers are absolutely trash ( unless you want to get through hundreds of Blade Maidens and farm Archon Barthollem all day in hope for a good pair of rare affixes ) and you’ll have much less trouble finding good Shaman gear from which Savagery will benefit.

Eh.

Brimstones beg to differ.

But that’s a melee thing.

I have been thinking about usingInfernal Brimstone on my commando.

The one thing I am noticing already are the number of mobs that are “fire immune” or highly resistant to be an issue only about half way through elite. I just get the feeling that the game, in general, really requires a balanced attack. Maybe that is fire with some other (internal trauma, bleed, etc).

I was also considering that weapon for my elem, but then I saw its base damage which is as high as on level 40 epic 2-handers…
