Is there any chance you can make Elite difficulty scale with your character’s level? I’ve spent over 800 hours playing this game and I have always despised Ultimate difficulty, I would much prefer to play on Elite.
For me, the problem with Ultimate is not the actual difficulty, but the fact that it turns the game into a god awful grind in which everything takes ages to kill because of inflated health pools. This artificial difficulty slows the game down significantly and makes my character feel significantly weaker than it did when it was a lower level. Right now I’m around level 89 with a well-built character and once I made it through the darkvale gate after killing Karroz or whatever the game just slowed to a halt (comparatively).
I’ve enjoyed the game, and now the expansion, a ton, but I fucking hate how Ultimate is scaled and would love to just enjoy myself in elite but slaughtering mobs 10 levels lower than myself is hardly engaging.
Ultimate difficulty is ultimate challenge. If you don’t have what it takes, don’t play it. It’s for hardcore players. Messing whole game balance for one player is wrong. Also, you can trade your gear in MP if you need something
Next time please try to actually understand the post before acting like a dick.
As for the original idea, I for one like it very much. That would give a more relaxed gameplay option for builds and gear which aren’t 100% minmaxed, but still having a challenge.
It is evident that you didn’t actually consider what my post says before responding because everything you wrote has zero to do with my suggestion. In fact, your post actually supports my suggestion. Once you reach higher levels you are FORCED to play on Ultimate because mobs stop scaling with you on the lower difficulties. So, no, ultimate is not for “hardcore players” at all. It is for everyone and I’m not suggesting that they change it. I’m suggesting that they allow an easier difficulty to scale with the player’s level so that those who aren’t “hardcore players” or who simply prefer a differently paced game can do so.
My character is currently level 95 and I cannot even level on Elite because of this design decision.
