As shown in the picture, it has an 8% chance to proc 40/60% physical resistance.
I’ve tried dual wielding it and using default attack, I’ve tried attack modifiers, tried using skills and I’ve even tried just letting mobs hit me but I never received the phys resistance buff once. (I was looking at the sheet the entire time).
Can someone confirm how this actually works? This is driving me nuts. Thank you!
it’s not a buff, it has no duration
the way those things usually works is they are automatically instantly and individually applied (can’t say if that’s actually working for defensive stats)
So ex when it’s a regular offensive stat, on any of your attack you’ll passively get X dmg applied “to that attack” and the effect then rolled every attack you do, the dmg doesn’t appear in your sheet/“buff” you on the proc
Assuming it works the same, it should mean everytime enemies does a attack on you it rolls and would directly subtract 40/60% phys dmg from some attacks incoming dmg
way to test it would be to go to an enemy that deals mainly phys dmg, like shambler, stand there and take some dmg, get and idea of what it hits you for, equip the hammer, stand for a while and check dmg, if you’re suddenly taking 50% less dmg on the smash etc it’s probably the phys res rolled against that individual attack
