Forgive me for asking a stupid question but I am quite new to the game. I just started playing a couple of weeks ago and got the toon to about lvl 75 and finished the regular story chapters on veteran.
I read a lot about this game and i see a lot of feedback about the different options for endgame. I don’t know what to do at endgame? What am I missing? I did the shards portal in forgotten gods and got to about lvl 15 but i am not strong enough to go higher yet. What else is there to do besides the same content over and over?
You can farm for gear in the rogue-like dungeons, hunt Nemesis if you’ve high enough hostile rep to trigger them spawning, make new characters and do it all over again.
If I had to do it all over again, heres what Id do in your shoes;
Focus in particular on doing bounties over and over for Malmouth Resistance, and in general, killing that Factions enemies to gain more Rep with them. Do this until you are Revered with Malmouth Resistance faction (access to their Faction Vendor’s 4th tab of items on sale). On this 4th tab of items, you will see a white looking Potion that costs 40,000 iron, which gives you +100% xp gain for a long duration.
earn lots of money doing either crucible or shattered realm and selling all the gear you dont need from what you get for rewards, then use that money to start stockpiling XP potions in your Shared Stash for use on new characters so they level up way faster.
This will kill many birds with 1 stone. Youll gain more levels, youll get better gear, and youll get an item that will let you level the shit out of your new guys you decide to build.
Id then start doing the same thing for rep with all the other factions until youre revered with all of them, buy all the blueprints so you can craft those items and components going forward, and by this time you should be strong enough to go higher in shards in SR. Start running those and pushing your build further. When you hit a wall, try multiplayer. Same with Crucible.
EDIT: In the midst of all this youll meet other players and get strong enough to farm Lokarr, for the Lokarr gear set that provides +40% xp gain with all pieces equipped, which you can store in shared stash again alongside XP potions for heavily accelerated new build growth!
Lower levels of Steps of Torment, Bastion of Chaos, Port Valbury in the base game; Ancient Grove in Ashes of Malmouth and Tomb of the Heretic in Forgotten Gods.
People made their suggestions and that’s all actually but I’ll put it in another way.
Because of the first character you say that you’re playing with I guess you don’t know the game hundred percent and don’t have the items that can beat the end game content. So my suggestion is, before dwelling on rogue-like dungeons and crucible or shattered realm a bit go for the elite level. On elite level you’ll see how strong your character is and what needs to be done to get stronger. And you’ll learn the game mechanics better because it’s more challenging. Meanwhile you’ll need to be revered reputation on every faction you choosed and also you need to get nemesis reputation to every enemy faction so you can see their nemesis creatures aswell. I’m sure this will take a while and if you are lucky, during the elite you’ll get your planned items to be ready to ultimate but there are blueprints and components that you can’t able to receive in one character playtime. With my first char(Warder) I couldn’t get the mythical ultos set and couldn’t beat the ultimate so I had to open a new character with the gears I have. So if you wanna try to ultimate then go for it you can just go back to elite and farm rogue-likes, otherwise after finishing the elite and get revered by all factions, buy XP potions and Faction Mandates and open a new character. Mandates are important because they can be transferred to other characters by your shared stash and they will increase the reputation gain of faction just from the beginning so the next character everything will be quicker. Don’t worry it will take a while to master on game mechanics and perspective to improving your builds, just have fun.
PS: Plan your second character before creating one. You can use https://www.grimtools.com/calc/ . After planning, keep the items you might gonne use them for your planned character then things will get more easier.
