I’m doing a “clean slate” playthrough now that I’ve bought the expansion. Way back when GD released I spent about 500 hours on the game so I’m not a COMPLETE newbie, but since I haven’t played until a few days ago (what has it been, a couple years? year and a half?) I HAVE forgotten a good deal.
Right now I’m leveling just soldier, using blade arc and war cry to get through normal… with the plan of going blademaster after I pick up a soldier exclusive (which depends on whether I’m still going 2H or S&B)… level 38 right now.
I’m pretty squishy as of yet, so I’m hammering health potions and I took turtle shell and dryad.
Energy is the biggest issue so far though. So far I’m just hammering energy potions - but is there a constellation I’m overlooking that could help me significantly with energy regen for the time being?
easiest way to fix energy issues are equip caster chest and or helmet.
You can also use ectoplasm in your gear.
if it absolutely has to be devotions Tree of Life is best
Scholars Light grants flat 2.5%
Owl grants -5% skill energy cost
Oklaine’s Lantern grants 15% energy regen and 2% flat regen
Dryad grants 200 flat energy and 1 flat regen
I doubt you’ll be using a caster offhand, and since Oklaine’s lantern requires one, consider Scholar’s light (the candle). It gives 2.4 or 2.2. Panther also gives 20%, but I prefer flat regen for non-caster builds.
Untransmuted blade arc? Arcane spark. Try to get more regen, absorb and leech from devotion. Viper, scythe, scales. Lantern only works with caster weapons or offhands so its not an option. The new Bard’s Harp devotion is awesome to fix energy issues on flames of ignaffar. I bet it is also awesome for you.
Untransmuted blade arc dps is good in early game but falls in ultimate, so you might want to respec into something else later.
