I’ve got 1400 population, all in 140 upgraded mansion’s. Each house is covered by all four entertainment buildings: pub, library, grand theater, upgraded festival pole. There is no house that isn’t covered by all four buildings. Yet my entertainment level is stuck at 92% and doesn’t budge. Is there some other form of entertainment building I’m missing other than the four I listed.
Both the pub and library have two employees.
Upgraded the theatre?
Yes, the theatres are all upgraded as are the festival poles. I’ve got thee each of the four different types of entertainment buildings. The way entertainment buildings are situated means that some entertainment buildings cover more houses that others, but all houses are covered by all four entertainment buildings.
Your post got me to examine my entertainment values at my pubs and festival poles.
In the process I found that upgrading my festival poles caused their entertainment values to go from above 80% at tier 1 to 60% at tier 2.
Seems odd that improving a structure would reduce it’s effectiveness, and by so much.
The percentage value of an entertainment building fluctuates with how many houses it serves. If you have an entertainment building on the edge of town to capture those last few houses, the entertainment value of that building is low anyway.
No housing was changed and the poles are in the center of town. All I did was upgrade the festival pole.
So I deleted my upgraded festival poles and replaced them with non-upgraded ones and the total total entertainment value score didn’t change from 92%. I then upgraded them and the entertainment value stayed at 92%.
I’m talking about the value in the menu bar at the top not the individual score from each festival pole.
The total entertainment value (menu bar) did not change for me either. However, the individual values indicated at the festival poles is what changed.
I’ll destroy one festival pole and replace it with a new one to see if the values revert. I’ve also noted that the values at the upgraded festival poles has slowly increased over five game years. It’s now up to 68% but still not near the 82% it was prior to upgrading.
It seems wrong for the individual entertainment values to decrease when an entertainment building is upgraded.
UPDATE: After a couple of decades, both festival poles are now at 100%. I don’t know whether this is just due to the passage of time, or other factors such as additional houses and entertainment buildings.
