I haven’t seen many people discussing Templars so I thought I’d throw this out there. This build is fun to play, and breezed through Ultimate, but could be greatly improved. His resistances, health, and, especially OA are all less than ideal. I keep making changes but feel like I’m just spinning my wheels at this point. I’d love some expert advice.
I have about 2000 hours worth of gear in my stash to chose from, and could have probably made some better decisions. Life Steal works so well with EoR that I’ve been reluctant to give up his otherwise questionable ring and necklace.
Between Ascension, Mirror, Maiven’s, and Soulfire, the build is pretty durable.
Oh, and Stormfire is mostly there to help process Elemental Storm.
After more extensively playing the slight variant that I posted, I think he’s worse than he was this morning.
Also, man, it feels almost counter-productive to take fire damage into Forgotten Gods. Having said that though, I went through Normal, Elite, and Ultimate FG without many problems using fire damage.
Have you considered the Stronghold Defender shield? You’d see 10% more conversion from physical->fire. And a few other benefits (physical resist, atk speed for EoR).
There is a sword that does 100% phys->fire to EoR and with some lit->fire conversion you could improve damage. Drops to look for, I guess. It would allow you to move points from IEE to something else. The more pure fire convert, the better imho.
I was using the Stronghold Defender at first. I decided to try out Turrion’s Reprisal for the extra health and minor boost to Mirror. I’ll probably go back. I’ll look into that sword. Thanks!
Also, I’m somewhat addicted to IEE as it solves all of my energy problems when using EoR.
