Erm... What is this? Possible bug?

While I was looking at skill modifiers for OK in GT I found these bad boys:https://www.grimtools.com/db/ru/items/2388 and https://www.grimtools.com/db/ru/items/2710
Both empowered and standart version have this.

I think itā€™s just some mistake, blue items arenā€™t supposed to have skill modifiers and -20% total in general sounds pretty wierd. And if it is not a mistake, still, pls remove these ā€œskill modifiersā€ from those items.

The items are called ā€œOathbreakerā€ and nerfs the Oathkeeper :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I kinda get it, very funny, but why? Simply making items unplayble for the laughs?

Level 65 items.

Still they give plenty of good bonuses.

Remind me of good ol Diablo 2 low level unique items that gave some wierd negative ā€œbonusesā€ like life-drain etc.

Well, they would have been good paladin lvl-up items, but no, letā€™s make a joke out of them

Diablo 2 isnā€™t Grim Dawn and Grim Dawn isnā€™t Diablo 2.

I actually like the flavor of these skill modifiers, they make a great joke. Also it shows that the devs care about the lore of the game.

Grim Dawn steals sooo much from the Diablo games

Well, you can make special joke sets if you want to have fun, but why nerf a good ranged Paladin lvl-up set?

Wellā€¦ I donā€™t mind ā€œstealingā€ good stuff, but jokes

But Paladins are a joke.

come at me el critico

I actually wish more items in Grim Dawn had some negative effects. That would make build making more interesting ā€¦ Now it is basically a linear process

+1

Iā€™d like that too, something with pros and cons, to make us try to balance things out. Btw, these guns seem to be more attuned for Firestrike Shieldbreaker than for Paladin. Ofc, Paladin can use them as well.

Edit: this reminds me on damage modifiers on skill transmuters, so it kinda makes some senseā€¦ What i donā€™t get from the phrasing is if the -10% to total damage includes the flat physical damage from rebuke or just the IT/bleed proc and phys retal on presence of virtue itself. Though iā€™m inclined to believe it gives the penalty to rebuke as well

Now youā€™re asking for it!

Yeah, Iā€™ve mistaken Shieldbreaker for Paladin, my bad.

I like the idea of items that provide debuffs ONLY if they provide some good buffs in return. For example some sword that drains your life but does crazy-ass damage in return. Somewhat of an example is the Blood Sphere of Chthon that drains your life, but gives 100% converson.

But, imo this will turn the game into a ā€œmin-maxā€ experience even more than it is right now and many people wouldnā€™t like that.

Sometimes we like to bring the RP in ARPG out more.

Not unplayeble. You take possession instead and no OK at all, for example. You;ve made your choice and broke the oath:p
