it just crossed my mind that there might be situations and builds where youd want to evade away from where you cursor is pointing. if it would be possible to have regular evade on space and evade backwards (disengage) on shift+space that could be nice. i think, dunno, for aether ray maybe?
Wouldn’t people just use the disengage rune movement skill for that?
Not exactly, because Evasion stops at walls while disengagement paths around them since 1.1.8.0. I never liked that change.
that’s not new to 1.1.8 nor does it happen at every wall, just like with leap/rush runes has certain pathing requirements for it to happen
Would you rather see the character zigzag in the air /sarc
1.1.8 made disengagement work like all other movement runes, i.e. jump through walls if path around them is short enough. I remember it, because I enjoyed jumping backwards before the change and not so much after.
I would prefer it worked like before. To see what I mean, go fight Bolvar, Rutnick or Sister Crimson (if I remember correctly). Their disengagement stops at walls.
it didn’t, it just made it more consistently do so, it still did before, but was more prone to being caught out
“i remember because it killed me several times jumping through walls in SR” - made me stop using disengage and switch to leap way before the 1.8 change
