On the one hand being able to toss a box ontop of a zombie to immobilize it temporarily looks fun. On the other hand - tripping over random obstacles seems less fun and the UI presented makes it seem like that’d be REALLY easy to do on accident. Also the ragdolls seem really off in some of the combat sequences there.
Add to that a seemingly extremely bland setting and I think I’ll pass on this.
I tried this game for a few hours about a year back. ultimately i only ended up putting random objects around my character as make shift “armor”. for example i would put buckets, barrels, ladders ect, on my head. half the time the character would lose balance and fall over in funny ways but you could do the same to the zombies, get them stuck in barrels or put ladders on their head to prevent them from getting though a doorway.
While i found that stuff amusing for a bit, i had to put it down. Just not my type of game. I thought of maybe trying it again at some point but i haven’t decided yet.
Loved playing it around 2 months ago then I stopped for whatever reason.
They introduced the Arena mode not too long ago, it’s fun af now. Combat feels weird at first but while hard it’s also strangely elegant. I don’t regret my purchase, great early access game.
I didn’t buy it for the campaign although it looks like it’s going to be pretty good.
