Is there anything to discover, aside from my untimely death, along the immolation path north of the Deadman’s Gulch rift?

you can get a quest once you get a certain amount of rep (Black Legion I believe, cant remember off top my head)
They give you a Key and you unlock the door all the way at the end.
Immolation area only opens once you have the Honored rank quest from the Black Legion to kill the Herald of Destruction.
That’s pretty much the only reason to go there. There’s two sticks of Dynamite at the end, but hardly worth the effort.
