Physical damage is balanced around the fact armor blocks it, hence why enemies have much lower physical resistance to compensate.
Anyone who says that makes physical much weaker than other damage types is flat out lying.

Well, on certain skill, I’d say it is weaker. Conversion, mostly. Channeling skills with lower flat or small amounts added via devotions, etc.
IT is OP, though.
And maybe physical non-dot retaliation if it does get split. There are a lot of small amounts in devotions/items/skills.
IT is OP since when? IT can’t reach nowhere the same amount of damage as Burn or Poison.
I see you constantly making claims that stuff is OP without any evidence.
I do? I must be more diplomatic in future.
Octavius had to add 500% IT damage to Aegis and Forcewave to make them actual strong, viable sources of IT. And even then, Octavius doesn’t deal insane damage. Virtue’s Light deals more damage than the best IT set and it’s a fire/burn based set. Infernal Champion has stronger DoTs than Octavius.
And you do, specially about Inquisitor. I guess i have a different definition of “OP”, because i don’t consider a mastery doing its job as intended as OP (only exceptions were really the runes and they were rightfully nerfed).
Wait… If I have +10 to my weapon physical damage from a ring or constellation, does it go through armour separately too?
yes /10 char
This world has rotten to the bones.
That is a reason for why getting flat physical damage is crap. If you get 10 flat damage, and you have +2300% damage, that is “only” 240 damage…
Hi all again!
I stopped playing self-found on the 94th level and experimented with some physical legendaries, mainly Warborn set. Looks like it is possible to have enough damage per tick to overcome the problem of armour. Still, I am not sure if physical EoR is better than other Warlord autoattacks. Fervor was good even in self-found. I wonder if anyone compared EoR with other possible late game Physical strategies.
Does the same apply to modifiers to skills?
+X damage to skill Z?
