Faction rep - how do you get yours?

Yes, I know I get this by doing quests, bounties, etc, but just wondering whether you simply play through the game gaining rep as you go, whether you do a few bounties in certain areas before moving on or bounty run until you get up to revered status.

Most of my toons are in Normal so obviously not that far along, and although I have done some bounties I just feel that I’m not progressing with the game when I do these. I’d prefer to be moving on from Normal Fort Ikon for example than running around doing bounties for the Rhowari, Outcast, Black Legion, etc, trying to push my rep up. But I worry that I won’t have enough rep once I hit Elite and then later Ultimate to buy the gear I want. :undecided:

So what do other people do?

Using 50% and 100% faction bonus scrolls when you have access

Always have bounty, pick the ones you can do fast, know where the enemy is or has a lot of opposing heroes on the way

There are plenty of mobs for all factions to get rep except Legion, dont bother with it too much unless you absolutely need some faction item. When you reach ultimate you can do bounties for bigger rep and get revered

Once I’m able to I use the 100% +rep scrolls for my new toons and just grind the ever living hell out of an area until I start getting zero rep from over leveling

I just do the main quests and will check if a bounty that would be en route is offered (or something super quick, like kill Boris.) If I want a specific level 35 faction item I’ll farm bounties of the appropriate faction so that I can get it ASAP. Same thing again in elite if I “need” a specific resistance augment to smooth resistances for ultimate. Otherwise I just let faction come naturally. Will farm for lvl 70 rep gear in ultimate if I don’t already have acess to it.

Just finished redoing that w/o the scrolls on my first Cornicopia character so its all fresh in my mind. I find once you have those rep scrolls the rep process just flys by.

I cheat. Because rep grinding is mindnumbingly boring across all games ever made, ever.

I reached revered status with Rovers, Homestead, Death’s Vigil and The Outcast in Elite difficulty. I only do a few bounties on my way, which is why Devil’s Crossing usually lags behind.

I think there are two major decisions to make:

[ol]
[li]Do you want to be Honored with the Rovers before you enter the Blood Grove, so that one of the Rovari Legacy quest items can be picked up in the Ashen Wastes? Or do you postpone the Steps of Torment until you have reached Fort Ikon and get the quest from Anasteria to fetch that tome from SoT.[/li]
[li]Do you want to become revered with the Black Legion in Elite difficulty? Consider to kill Anasteria on the first difficulty. You can befriend her in Elite difficulty again.[/li]
