Farm field rotation

I’m just wondering if there is any reason why almost everything can freely placed now, except farm fields.
Not sure if there is an engine reason behind this although since terraforming and graveyards can be rotated freely, i dont think it should be an issue to let farms freely rotate as well, or at very least allow 45° angles, like with walls to allow better snapping them.
Also, it would be nice to when makng a new farm field to see how and where the 2x1 “storage area” would be placed, purely for cosmetic reasons. I know that the starting corner will be the place, but to which direction it goes, depends what direction you pull the farm field.

Seems to be this.

Whether that may get changed in a future patch only the devs know.

Fair enough. Fingers crossed that it could be solved in future patches cause it really breaks the free building immersion.
I’m fine with the wall/bridge limitations, if the farms could be made just for that 45°angle to snap nicely to walls that would a huge boost already to make them look more organic.

As a little workaround, you can still first build fences or roads (as future borders of the field you want to place) and then demarcate the area of your crop patches across those fences and roads. When doing so, you will still see the usual green rectangular grid (changing to red across and on the other side of the fence - you can safely ignore this) but once you have placed your field(s) then visually, you can achieve a more “unordered” pattern (see the upper right hand part of one of my fields in the screenshot - imagine how this could look if the fences of the other patches were positioned in tiny criss-crossing manner, too). Applying this method to several new adjoining, or even all your patches will result in a more “organic” overall look of your farm fields.
Not perfect but better than succumbing to the srictly rectangular grid.
