Farm Route ideas post patch

I have dismantled maybe 300 Blues (level 72 or 75) and have only ever gotten one Skeleton Key so the chance is pretty low

I have noticed that the chances of getting a Brain, blood or heart seems to be much higher since the patch yesterday though.

I have too small a sample to make any definitive statements but so far it seems to be a little higher. I’ll start keeping track of numbers and post back

Update: Since keeping track, I am 26/128 (which is 1 heart/blood/brain every 4.92 dismantles of a 72 or 75 Blue item) so I think there is an improvement. I am all out of dynamite so back to farming fabius. Will update as I get more dynamite

You can get up to 3 unique items. The first item has the 75% or 100% chance, the second 19% or 25% chance and the third a 1.9% or 2.5% chance.
To be accurate, once you play in multiplayer, more items will roll and these new items also have a chance to be a unqiue item.

Ah, that makes sense now, thank you very much!

I will start to conduct a few more investigations into farming routes now that this patch is out - perhaps doing Royal Hive, Arkovian Undercity and Cronley’s Hideout to see if they yield better rates.

Also, Eregerog, how do you look in the mod database to find these statistics? I tried having a look but honestly, I had no idea what I was looking at :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m very curious to know the drop rates of heroic and grand spoils, and was wondering if it is possible to look these up in the mod database.

So what are the conclusions ? Royal hive farming ?

I’ve been doing some testing and so far I’ve actually only done 45 Cronley’s runs, but have found the rates to be slightly better than Twin Falls Hive (although Twin Falls may have better rates in 1.0.0.4).

To be honest, most of my efforts have been focused on dismantling excess epics, as my mules were starting to get out of hand… I’ve dismantled 400+ so far, and I’ve recorded all the drops from them so when I’m done I’ll post the results.

Once I’ve done that, I’ll maybe do some more Cronley’s to get it up to 60 runs, then I might consider Royal Hive. However, Royal Hive is quite a lengthy run all things considered and can be quite frustrating to run, so I’m not in a hurry to try it.

Thanks for your feedback !

Crownley run is only the mine or you add something else ?

And if your need help for your epics II will be à pleasure to take it

Quick noob question. How do drops work in GD? Do they work like TQ in that specific monsters will drop specific items, or do items drop from any monsters (boss monsters) similar to Diablo 3?

Thanks.

Both - some items, such as random whites/yellows/greens, can drop from

a) a monster holding it
b) some form of loot (e.g. a loot orb, a chest, etc.)

Epics and Legendaries are treated in the same way, with a few select exceptions (Outcast’s Secret legendary, The Hidden Path helmet blueprints, etc.)

There are also the set of “Monster Infrequents” that TQ(IT) also had - so some greens that have stats even without affixes will only drop from a certain mob. These can also roll affixes, like in TQ(IT), and end up being strong items.

The major difference IMO is that you can use components (the equivalent to Charms and Relics) on Epics and Legendaries. From this, most Best in Slot items are Legendary (with a few exceptions).

Hope this helps

News just in, I’ve completed my dismantling marathon. I’ll post an in-depth thread with the details, but here’s a couple of stats:

  • Dismantled 139 different epics, totaling 519 items.
  • Got 38 Blood, 38 Brain, 31 Heart, 3 Eye, 0 Key.
  • Spent over 700k iron on dismantling and Dynamite.

I’ll make a thread later in the week/next week probably.

As iam quite New on this game is there somewhere I can find the complete list ?

I know for some items like fabius shoulder or the New sword from the Last patch but dont have all the informations.

So anyone know what the “best” is to do now? I got to level 85 yesterday and killed Loghorrean on ultimate. Dont really know what to do or farm now to be honest.

Thank you

This website has every item of every quality along with every affix. Enjoy!

Here’s a thread I have on a couple of routes to farm, but it is a little bit out of date (1.0.0.3): http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38582

I’ll be posting a thread later this week/next week about the results from running Cronley’s hideout - until then, just run anywhere that has the rep that you want along with a high hero mob density (Cronley’s, Four Hills in general, Twin Falls Hive, Steps of Torment etc.)

Are you asking what you should do with your character or just where to farm? There isn’t much else after defeating Log to do, besides farm gear for that character or other characters. If you don’t want to farm, then starting a new toon is the other option.

Flying Potato has some nice (yeah a bit outdated, especially the Fab data and shrine…) data on different routes. You’ll just have to understand increased time it takes to find the other nemeses or a different trove will drop the “per minute” rates, but the quantity over the same number of runs should be similar. The drop in rate per minutes will make Twin Falls one of the “best”. But the “Best” location could also depend on what your looking for… When I want to get epics I farm twin falls. Right now I’m trying to get chipped claws to make oleron blood, while still trying to rack up some epics/legendries/Ch’thonic bloods so I’m farming the beginning of BoC. I just find the trove and then run to the boss before the skel key door, killing all heroes and mobs that can drop claws along the way. For me, that is right now the “best” as it is a good source of claws (usually get 1-2 complete per run), not as good for epics as TF, but it does have a trove for rare crafting mats, plus some heroes plus a boss there that drop Ch’thonic blood. Although it hasn’t happened in the 15 or so runs so far…there is also a chance to run into Benn there… He likes to hide from me…

Is there any point in farming on ultimate or should I just change and farm on elite where it is alot easier?

Even though you can get lvl 75 blueprints in Elite you wil not get lvl 75 legendary items. So… if you want things like the Outcast’s Secret or The Mad Queen Claw you won’t get them in Elite.

Ok just wondering if im farming Hive/Fabius on ultimate, can they drop Black Star of Deceit for example even if the level for that item is quite low?

They will drop it on Ultimate - no restriction on that. In fact, the drop rate on Ultimate is increased for everything from MI to epic items to legendaries.
