Can people paste their farming routes post patch (Treasure trove removed from Shrine of forgotten god and Fabius loot quality reduced)?
Thanks
I’m probably just going to resort to farming Blood Grove+Rift and Moo, maybe the entrance to BoC as well.
This means I’ll run Arkovian Undercity, check Moo’s two other overworld spawn points (Crumbling Watch + “secret” entrance to Hamilton Mine), then run SoT up until the key door.
Then I’ll run Blood Grove, Rift, and BoC.
Gives me 4 troves to hit, and 2 Nemesis that I can easily kill.
I am pretty sure just spamming steps/bastion is best now, with a strong emphasis on steps because you are pretty likely to run into Moosi and you will probably never run out of ectoplasm ever again
Twin falls port -> swarming hive is good. 4ish heroes on average + a guaranteed boss
Fabius is still a decent option imo. With arkovian foothills port you can quickly check his both of his spawns and can take a quick peek at crumbling watch to see if Moosi spawned there. Can run through spined cove too for a gtd boss + 2-3 heroes
Croplands -> royal hive is always good. A lot of aetherial/bug heroes + 2 gtd bosses
r.i.p treasure trove farming simulator
I think rushing the Twin Falls hive will now be the most time efficient - it compared with Fabius pre-nerf, so now that Fabius is not so good and the Shrine Trove has been removed, it should be the best now (especially with the buff to drop rates).
So what exactly is different with Kymon/Death Vigil (and now Fab) loot table? I’m assuming certain items are excluded where other nemesis do not have the same restriction?
I’ve never run Kymon/Death Vigil Nemesis because I’ve never been bothered to farm for the rep, but I’m under the impression that they simply have lower chances to drop epics / legendaries. I’m not actually sure if certain items cannot drop, but rather that they are just less certain to.
At least, that’s my understanding of it.
that makes more sense… So I am assuming the lower rate is due to the ease of finding/farming them? In that case then the Ch’thonic nemesis should get a boost to his loot table…
Looks like they are trying to prevent “this the best way to farm” scenarios and just make many different paths for the “best farming”…
I have looked through the loottables for Nemisis bosses in the modding database and found the following differences between normal nemisis bosses (atherial, cthonian and undead) and lesser nemisis bosses (kymon, death’s vigil and cronley):
[Lesser -> Normal]
Elite:
The items that CAN drop are the same, but the chances are different.
Amount of Items per chest:
8+players3 -> 11+ players4
Chances to get Unique(Epic or Legendary Items):
75%,19% and 1,9% -> 100&, 25%, 2,5%
Chance for a Unique Item to be of legendary quality:
20%->22%
Chance for a blueprint:
75%->100%
[Lesser -> Normal]
Legendary:
The same chances as above, with one exception:
Chance for a Unique Item to be of legendary quality:
24%->27%
Awesome! Thanks for posting the actual numbers! So now you can kill Fab and 25% of the time not even get an epic… The 24% vs 27% of the unique being legendary doesn’t seem like that big of a drop off… Still with the speed at which he can be killed by some (and if it is easier to find him), doesn’t see like farming him will slow down that much… Especially with the shrine trove gone…
:rolleyes: Sounds like it would be an interesting comparison to see how much this drops off or if the ease of finding him compensate enough… :cough flying potato cough: :rolleyes:
With the shrine gone, all that extra dynamite can now be used to scrap the extra epics that are plentiful in TF to help supply the rare mats to convert to legendries…
Firstly, thank you for obtaining this data, however I do not understand the line I have quoted above - what are the second and third percentages?
Oh, I see how it is…
But seriously, looking back at the previous comparison in patch 1.0.0.3 (taken from this thread: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38582), one can see that old Fabius averaged 1 legendary per 11 minutes, and old TF hive averaged 1 legendary per 12 minutes. It seems likely, therefore, that TF hive is now simply better to run. And, it has the bonus of not having a chance to spawn with a certain axe… (and be easier to run for more characters).
I read all your post with interests potato and so i understand that now the hive is better for farming, prefer fabius previously.
He has the advantage to offer some dynamites for more components.
There are quite a few factors that I’ve thought of which may affect farming routes in 1.0.0.4. It seems like the nerf to troves will cause players to have more dynamite in their inventories which is an indirect buff to dismantling, and a dismantling buff is always good to see.
Seems like Fabius runs will still be worthwhile for those that can kill him quickly, but since dynamite may be in slightly less demand due to the trove change, this may impact some players’ decision to farm him.
The ectoplasm drop rate is also a small buff to running SoT/BoC, since skeleton keys will be slightly easier to craft. Then again, crafting components will be slightly harder to come by because of the trove nerf, so perhaps these two factors will cancel each other out.
Since there is now an Eldritch boss near the entrance to SoT which has a chance to drop Ancient Hearts, maybe SoT runs will be something for players to consider as well.
I personally used to do Hallowed Hill runs, and while these runs are still a decent source of brains and crystals, I may have to try some other runs and evaluate the results of the trove nerf.
Some thoughts on the matter:
Farming nemesis bosses, including fabius, is still worth, since we’ve got 2 new blueprints to acquire, and no more easy throves. So, if you want that 2 new helms Farming fabius is, probably, still your Best bet.
Wasp nests are decent. Chtonic rifts are great for blood, chipped claws, bosses and guaranteed throve in each.
BoC is better than SoT since bosses in SoT don’t drop mats.
Dismantling blues is still a good source of mats, so dynamite will remain in demand.
Overall, I’d do the following:
Fabius+Cronley (dynamite, nemesis throve, even more great Cronley’s Ring)
Bees
All Chtonic rifts (or at least first and last) and BoC full (since ectoplasm is not so rare now).
Including Royal Hives may also be an option.
By the way, did anybody try Farming new hidden pass bosses?
does dismantling blues yield heart/brain/blood? iirc only scrap+components
Yes, it does. From my experience you get one per ~8 dismantled items. And a small chance to get skeleton key.
I have been starting every farm run like this:
1st - Mad Queen
2nd - Hidden Lab plus Warden(Looking for Nemesis)
3rd - Depraved Sanctuary
4th - Gruesome Harvest plus Amalgamation (Looking for Nemesis)
5th - Necropolis Gates (Looking for Nemesis)
6th - Tomb of the Watchers
I’m usually looking for Valdaraan for he’s the easiest for me to kill. Got him about 7 Times last night. I usually have a good soundtrack going to this farm route, otherwise things get boring. Then I will switch up my route basically to just kill C’thonics, looking for Ben’jarr.
Oh, sorry my bad… I actually read the patch notes wrong… “…as he is relatively easy to hunt down as well”.
I though they changed his loot table BUT made him easier to find… Looking back now I see they changed the table BECAUSE he is easy to find! (still if that is the premise, then Benn needs a boost to his loot table…)
yah, so no need to collect more data… TF hive is the best! Especially since you can dismantle all those epics with your extra dynamite now…
Funny you mentioned the Axe…I was running TF last night and a Skeleton Knight spawned with one of those Axes…Although he’s not as scary with it as Fab…
OH, you can get a key from dismantling? That could be nice…
Chance to get a skeleton key is really small though. I’ve gotten one from dismantling a terrible legendary, but only one.
