I’m new to Grim Dawn and looking for a build to focus on that I can use to farm gear for other builds. I plan to eventually play all the major builds, but looking for a recommendation to get me started. I’m gravitating to the Warder builds focusing on retaliation. Which build do each of you prefer to use for farming the hardest difficulty modes?

Otherwise, I’d personally opt for my all-time favourite, the DW firestrike Saboteur (here’s a good guide for one: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34294)
Retaliation Warder is a good starting build and very good for farming, just struggle through elite and Ult pure range/casters mandatory bosses and its all going to be good
With Saboteur as 2nd char you will have 2x of those recommended swords to cruise through easily
Yea, DW Saboteur or Elementalist is probably the best idea.
I also support DW saboteur, due to his native run/total speed (pneumatic burst+vindictive flame) and the easily obtainable and very viable weapons (even without any Stormheart, two Elite Legion Firestarters are enough for handling ultimate reliably).
A vitality DoT conjurer helps farm gears for me and it doesn’t require a lot of gear to survive since DoT leeches enemy’s HP and you benefit from Blood of Dreeg and Possession skill/aura that helps you survive.
It has decent clear speed too.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I’ll give the DW Sab a go.
I never had that problem… Why do you say this?
Its a pain to deal with bosses that dont have melee attacks, it got better once I started using stonefist but its a sloooooow fight. Had around 200% reflect
