Farming exact gear in main game is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The best way to gear up is to farm mats and trade (check out Guides and Tutorials -> trading guide) And once you have a viable toon farming crucible is the way to go about increasing you inventory.
If you insist on farming MC for gear I suggest Steps of Torment - quick and high density of heroes plus a chance to drop two of the most sought after purple MIs in the game. Or Ancient Grove - more time consuming but with a chance to drop some of the greatest greens.
