Dual blades is just a passive, and overriding a skill’s required weapon type has been possible since… AOM? Make the modifier override the weapon requirement and add a new animation to the modifier, probably something like chilling rounds anm or burst round anm

I’m more impressed with Upheaval rework

wasn’t speaking to technical level, but that these modifiers was revealed/announced first for FoA misadventure specific items :sweat_smile:

Retal nerfs :laughing:

I like it, imo this was too weak for the skill point investment in current retal builds, I didn’t want to take it in multiple of my retal builds, now I’ll reconsider.

:-1: I don’t think these are that strong… Blade Spirits (with mods) was only like 20% of Chillwhisper power based on my calculation?

And the Top 20 builds with Guardians… It’s hard for me to imagine Boiz being the reason of their good performance.

  • Blightlord has also DE and RE - Boiz pale in comparison

  • Custom Nightbringer Archon is a super synergy of many things - Storm Totems, modded Wind Devils, many devotion procs, Acid Purge…

  • I doubt Barthollem’s Fire Guardian dedicated build (ultimate test of BOIZ’ power) is very good.

    • maybe someone could test it in the next Steam Public Test update and SAVE THE BOIZ

Noooo, so proper acid spam PB was possible for literally 1 patch and is gonna be dead again, but for real this time. Unless there’s some item in FoA that will enable acid spam, but FoA is still in ā€œsoonā„¢ā€ category.

Speaking of upheaval rework, I wonder how it would work with attack replacers with arc of attack :thinking: can we get arc of attack for savagery on 5/5 ultos back (was live for only 1 patch too), or it’s gonna be broken op again?

Yeah, that made be go ā€œwhat the FUCK?ā€ too, I’m guessing they’re finally making it so Nightblade WPS skill line can work with ranged. In one limited case. Going to make that gun potentially over powered though.

Zantai already showed a crossbow that works with Nightblade Dual Blades line.

What?!!! So my almost 150k Health bodyguard will become even more tanky ?

Currently leveling a toon to test that weapon (just reached lvl84) and for the whole playthrough i asked myself what even the point is with that thing. Casting speed bonus on a 2h ranged weapons with bonus to a cooldown based skill ? Are you supposed to play DEE with it ? But then you absolutely need the full Rotgheist set. Or is ther any other acid spell than can benefit from Lethal Assault ?

At least now with the bonus weapon damage, maybe it’s worth looking for cooldown reduction bonus ?

Edit : So… I played a bit with the Quillthrower and yeah it’s as awkward as I though. I use the Bitting Blade skill from Seal of Shadow during ABB cooldown and it loves the casting speed bonus but overall I find the whole gameplay loop meh…

Boys nerf is baffling to say the least. Blade Spirit nerf is also sad and unjustified but I can see how Zantai could’ve looked at some of the top20 builds and (mistakenly) thought that Blade Spirits are too strong. But GoE are super weak, you can just test it easily by taking any builds with stacked GoE and make it attack dummy and see how much damage they actually do (spoiler: not much at all).

I don’t really see the case for nerfing them. They are (amongst other things) a way of adding aoe to some melee builds, but that comes at a significant cost in points and constraint on gear (if you want to get 24 points for 4 spirits).

I assume any nerfs moving forward are pre-emptive nerfs for when the Berserker comes to town. Pierce Berserker + Nightblade is going to be innately really strong.

As for the Bois, I’d really like to see comparisons between using them as a 1-pt RR bot and devotion proccer and fully investing into them. I assume any strong build using the Bois is coming from their proccing abilities and investing in the Bois has little impact, if any. I know Crate is very much against walking simulator builds, but pet users are happy to have any bois, whether they are pet-scaled or player-scaled.

But then existing Nightblade classes bear the brunt of this pre-emptive nerf strike because?..

Zantai can we atleast get to keep the proc too? (it’s fine if dmg gets toned down as compensation for wps) - and yes i get it will expand tooltip, but still :sweat_smile:
Or get it available somehow, having Theodin’s wave attack was actually pretty cool
