Hello,

Some examples of most common Vitality archetypes and their lack of Petrify cc-res:

Valguur Ritualist - 0% Petrify res

Valguur Cabalist - 0% Petrify res

Custom RE Oppressor - 16% Petrify res (only when Ascension is on)

Gargabol pistol Defiler - 0% Petrify res

Dark One Cabalist - 0% Petrify res

Dark One Conjurer - 20% Petrify res from Kaisan amulet

So basically most Vitality builds can’t obtain Petrify res unless they are using one of the Lunal belts or Kaisan amulets. Even thematically it feels wrong: how are those blood mages ever petrified? Stunned, frozen, sure, but petrified?

But mad_lee, surely you know that Frozen Heart gives Petrify res?
Yes, but taking Frozen heart in ring slot means sacrificing a chunk of your DA (and sometimes stun res or bleeding resistance) which means sacrificing survivability.

SUGGESTION

Add 20-30% Petrify res to Rattosh devotion. Judging from the devotion description Rattosh used to watch the border between world of the living and world of the dead, could such entity ever be petrified? I aren’t think so. Will it break Vitality builds? Not really, no.

Definitely agree on this one. Vit builds always needed some extra sacrifice to achieve some form of trap/freeze/petrify res and since most of them are kind of pianoish and depend on laying out their full arsenal to keep up those sustain procs and deal damage, i personally would add casting speed too to most gloves.

wanted to use my Gargabol Defiler as an example but ol’ man somehow was faster. ye, I agree on this one as Petrify is kinda the hardest-to-get CC (imo) and there are some really annoying enemies with it.
I’d say adding some petrify on vit and chaos devos (since chaos is not also bathing in it) is a good idea, with maybe some extra additions to items.

Frozen Heart is a really good component but at the same time you may be in dire need of hp/da/bleed res so it’s not kinda possible to add it.

Ive been away from the game for quite some time but i remember well my Blood Knight DK only has 21% petrify res from component.
