[Feedback] Elemental Tactician Forcewave

Hello! Wanted to try a forcewave build. Physical and fire are pretty well known, so decided to try Elemental with Arcanor.

Then realized if I wanted to go close to blended elemental and not just elemental that’s really more fire, I REALLY had to go Elemental

(shame lightning needs the conduit to convert pierce and keep the perfect trinity)

Anyway, despite all that additional flat spread evenly across elemental bonuses, damage is low and SR65 boss rooms have been a struggle because you can’t kill multiple nemesis fast enough. SR75 is a non-starter

Last thing I’ll try is dropping elemental RR devos for more T3 damage devos and finding more leech + phys res. This is arguably as much as pure elemental damage problem as specifically forcewave, but I know the latter has been complained about low damage for awhile now. Even stacking on basically every flat damage mod has it coming up short, and elemental dot % is low because green affixs don’t support all 3 at once.

Don’t know what the answer is here and probably touches on 1.1.8 Mastery Balance for Tactician. You can’t get the flat on forcewave gear currently to overcome single res, and single res elemental in general is going to struggle not stretching for all the t2 RR devos.

I did exactly the same, didn’t like the results in Crucible. The same reason - low damage
but I like the visuals - Inquisitor Seals everywhere, Rune of Hagarrad, Arcane Devastation.

Will try do it differently another time.
I will now look at our builds and check what we did differently.

here was my version

it was pretty slow (by todays standards at least), but consistent… a bit more added flat and more focus on fire/cold than tri elemental

Forcewave isn’t very impressive skill anyway but tri-elemental damage version have low sheet DPS, despite Arcanor is actually giving tremendous damage bonus.

I have something like this too but haven’t tested it

Disappointed a bit with the 1st Elemental version I tried Justicar and I mistakenly thought I can shift some of the base damage to Fire with all these conversions, probably forgot it’s Elemental not Physical.

The best result from all of this testing and building is the following picture/illusion for the build

I’m definitely spoiled by the whole 5m Crucible thing :rage:

Both Fire and Lightning work well because added stuff, is that correct? Lightning thanks to your brilliant addition of Storm Totems/Rare weapon and Fire because… well multitude of Fire skills and devotions Demolitionist has.

Visuals are indeed top tier at least!

Last I saw lightning still struggled, but haven’t tried to focus build. Fire should be fine as you mention due to justicar set support, and both being able to have much more focused devotion trees as single element (more so fire). Pierce lacks skill points all over the place last time I tried to but together, and pure cold is probably even worse on that front.

OA is higher in game so there is some spirit dump beyond what could shift from the GT, but still need some cunning to be high enough to consistently trigger DA on cooldown (or minor gear swaps). Either way, partial spirit dump isn’t going to push this to glory imo

I don’t have GT but my spirit was around 100 points in :stuck_out_tongue:

And Seekers, I like them for elemental builds.

But for FW I would still say Fire is better than elemental. And I will work on updating my FW Warlord doing physical damage.

Damns, I’ll have to revisit and see if I can get spirit to the moon.

Originally had seekers which I also greatly enjoy, but yoinked points for ghoul cause leech was poop tier

I tried ele FW battle mage build with as much flat damage sources as possible - not impressive even in campaign.
