I have the impression that after the nerf everyone is skipping blind fury nowadays. And it’s pretty much unterstandable: while the skill per se it’s not bad, the -12 flat physical RR is useless.
The main reason for it is that pretty much any physical damage based build will have soldier as one of the 2 classes, so with Break Morale it’s easy to AOE overwrite the little flat RR from blind fury. CD of war cry is long, of course, but still this days is pretty easy to gain a decent CDR with stuff like spellscourge set, Bulwark of Octavius, the bonus from M. Warborn visor etc.
Maybe the old armor debuff was too strong, but i think that between “too strong” and “useless” there can be a middle ground.
My proposal: replace the 12 flat phys RR with 10% phys RR and make blind fury useful again. It’s a tier 3 constellation after all.
While i’m supporting this idea it might not be as easy to implement as you might think since flat RR is a debuff with it’s own duration so it can be put on pretty much anything, but -% RR is tied to other skills/procs with duration which blind fury don’t have so it would take a quasi total rework to change this.
AFAIK all kind of debuff (RR,OA,DA,whatever) are working the same pattern.
Stackable debuffs ( -n%) have to be on stuff that have a duration of it’s own.
Non-stackable (flat) debuffs (n reduced whatever) have their own duration so they can be attached to pretty much anything, but they’re technically the same debuffs, that’s why they don’t stack with each other (within the same stat oc).
To make BF have a stackable debuff it has to be reworked to have a duration of it’s own, but i’m not aware of a skill/proc with a duration AND %weapon damage (not sure if its engine limitation, balance issue, or there is stuff like that i forgot about) so it can’t just be changed without significant rework imho.
You mean that a DA debuff in this case would not stack with other DA debuffs like the one from blindside or markovian advantage? Those are both DA debuffs that are not binded to the damage duration or anything
Yes, the DA debuffs from Blindside, MA, Flashbang (anything in the format of: N Reduced target’s DA for x seconds) are not stacking with each other, the one with the highest value overrides the lower ones.
Same goes for other debuffs like RR for eaxamle, thats why Acid Spray don’t stack with Agonizing Flames and/or Elemental Storm, etc…
Without reworking the whole proc we can only think about non-stackable defuffs, so i guess OA would be the most useful sinces RR, DA, and damage debuffs are presented in Soldier mastery which most physical builds would pick.
Or ditch the debuffs altogether and up the %wd or flat damages a bit, but in that case it won’t be too easy to find the right spot in terms of balance imho.
Agreed. If (and I’m not sold on that if btw) it needs a buff the most sensible way would be a straight up damage increase imo. Most other potential de buffs are already covered in solider which seems to be the primary mastery for this devotion.
You know I have been playing a physical FoI build and it uses Blind Fury (it works quite nicely, mechanically at least). I have found myself wishing that the old armour debuff still existed because FoI has flat rr built in and the damage it deals can in fact be significantly reduced by enemy armour.
I realise that this is a very niche situation but still, bring back the armour debuff
