So I have made few testing runs in Crucible with Belgothian Blademaster trying to find out which one is better.
First of all, loving changes to Will of the Blades. But. It’s still inferior to Night’s Embrace on a pierce Blademaster. Difference is small, but can’t say for certain how small, because my PC doesn’t let me speedrun Crucible as fast as I would wish to. I would say about ~10-15 seconds difference, Night’s Embrace wins. Maybe Will of the Blade is meant to compliment non-Belgothian Pierce Nightblades (not sure which ones are those) but right now I see couple of main problems with its stats: skill bonuses and proc physics.
So, skill bonuses:
Still from the old version of amulet that added mods to Blade Spirit. Right now: both skill bonuses are pretty redundant. Piercing builds are never putting more than 1 point into Blade Spirit and Blademaster have more then enough Oleron’s Rage bonuses.
Suggestions: change that to +2/3 to Dual Blades. Base Piercing skill that is impossible to hardcap in 99% of setups (even with two Belgothian slicers).
Proc is great, we love procs, everyone love procs. BUT. I played with it for about an hour (all Crucible 150-170 very intense action heavy gameplay) and it felt like the blade was a bit narrow or something and it was missing smaller targets a lot. I might be wrong here, but maybe someone from Crate can look into that. I would love for that blade to be a bit wider.
Oh and attack speed is nice but Belgothian Blademaster have it capped without this amulet, so I am not sure how useful is that (maybe for some different non-Belgo pierce Nightblades).
It’s actually pretty broken together with Notched Bone
It’s definitely not meant for PB. Ranged builds use either Valdun (because Valdun set) or Rimetongue (because it has more relevant +1 to Inquistor skill bonus). Not sure what kind of ranged Pierce builds would use this amulet.
You’re right,Rimetongue amulet is good, although the set doesn’t really have ranged skills support.Pierce FS/Grenadier ranged hybrid sits in my potential build list line for long time.
Valdun, too, although is more of a 2h Gun build.
Still Will of blades is one of that type of niche items, which are hard to be picked, unless they have skill modifiers or at least decent skill bonuses.
So I know I already made a thread with feedback about that amulet. And I stand by what I said there.
But, not sure if this slipped thru testing and nobody noticed but Mythical Will of the Blade + Mythical Notched Bone of Thousand Deaths makes Belgothian Blademaster absolutely broken.
I made three runs in Crucible Gladiator 150-170 with it and one was 6:05, other two were 5:49 and 5:53 which is pretty abnormal for my PC and for a build that lacks AOE. Here are the videos:
5:49 run - even had “Armored” mutator for 150-160 (monsters have additonal Pierce res) 5:53 run
As you see, setup is a bit suboptimal for Notched Bone’s wps because I already have 97% wps pool so adding another WPS with a chance of 10% reducess all wps values including Notched Bone’s one. And still this outperforms double Belgothian Slicer + Night’s Embrace setup.
It’s like new amulet was made for that silly blue axe.
I think either axe gotta be nerfed or %armor piercing on the new amulet.
i never bothered using that amulet, although it has nice stats it has no OA and no +1 to nightblade or all skills. seemed more about making blade spirits OP. This looks pretty amusing though.
Other than that bone axe the best secondary weapon you can get is a servitor slicer with the right affixes, that thing is just lul.
Removing the +1 to all NB skills and Oleron and replacing these with +skills to Aegis and PB would be nice.
Replace %Physical and IT with bleeding. Replace %Physical damage on the proc with %Bleeding.
Add 8% Cast Speed
Add a skill mod to add flat bleed damage to Aegis and another for Cold->Pierce conversion on BS. Reduce the +BS to 1
Now you have an amulet that supports Pierce and Bleeding.
kaisan is a nightmare for pierce BM even with nights embrace lol, not to mention you usually have a lower health pool and no flat absorb so his electrical aoe and crystals hit sooo very hard.
