Took a long break and played it for the first time now, with a new char (Warden).
The writing is excellent. I always compare games’ writing to that of novels, and games always lose. Always, by a long shot.
Bioware, if you listen, go frack yourself, seriously. Go make some soap operas. Sorry for french.
Not here. It’s so well written. Everything just “sits”, I have no other way to describe it. To have that kind of talent must be something.
The narrative/gameplay issue: Very good idea. The spike in difficulty in semi-secret side-areas was some good idea. Counters the drudge of levelling a char through the three difficulties. Very looking forward to the whole shebang in Elite.
Just one caveat: The endboss was too easy. He was basically a hit&run-whittle-him-down non-issue. He should be terrifying, but he wasn’t.
Also, maybe up the frequency of hero monsters to occur in the final dungeon.
Like, making it short but intense.
But overall, yes please, that was great. Please do more of that.
