If you build fences (no matter what kind) and then want to remove them again, you can only do this one fence piece at a time, which is extremely laborious with larger fences. Why can’t you just mark an entire fence and remove it?
Welcome to the forum. 
You can. Use the Manage Walls icon on the bottom right of the screen, select the fencing you want to remove and then hit Salvage.
Press X, use the cursor to draw a box around the fencing and click on Salvage. Be careful not to remove walls or fences you want to keep, holes allow wild animals and raiders in.
