Finally got "Like a sand in the desert" and 100% achievements ⭐

Finally got it with my very first character created back in 2018 when I started play Grim Dawn

It took 10 days and almost 8 hours of this character playtime to get the 250k kills, farming Chthonic Binding, Aether Crystal, Ugdenbloom, and those maggots

This makes Grim Dawn my first 100% achievement steam game. After 800 hours, I can safely touch grass now

Congrats. I still haven’t got all of them and I’ve got double your hours . :joy:

gg! Can you picture this character, that single gal, having killed enough crap to fill a decent-sized city?

Her kills are many, and millions fear her name.

She died 300+ times but let’s not talk about that.

Hahaha, that stinger at the end, golden.

Haha, imagine dying 300 times in a span of 10 days.

Congratulations! That’s definitely the most tedious achievement to get if you’re actually aiming for it. In my case it just happened naturally while farming stuff, I’m not entirely sure but I think I got it with my Bloodrager Warder which currently sits at almost 320k monster kills. He’s not my oldest char but certainly the one I played the most over the past 7 years.

I’m only one achievement away from 100% completion myself, all I have to do is beat some sense into Ulgrim. In hundreds of playthroughs it never occured to me to lift a finger against that poor bastard…

edit: had to look through several dozen chars until I found one that was just at the quest to find Ulgrim, but it’s done now

Hopefully that 100% completion rate will only last until Q1/2025

I remember that one, I think I was once killed by Ulgrim on Elite difficulties when trying all the dialogue options and acting as the Emperor

I reach 250k kills naturally after a few attempts at Crucible, so I don’t see this as a big deal.

I can imagine. My first character died 1100 times in the span of 16 in-game days.

I wish Crate would tone down the required number for this achievement, or make it a global achievement instead of a per-character one. I’ve been playing GD since 2017 and I still haven’t unlocked it, simply because I never stick so much with one character. Even after completing all the quests of the base game and the expansion on ultimate , you’re not even halfway to complete the achievement, so the rest is the purest of grinds.

they have, multiple times  - it used to be 700k for the max kill achievement before FG expansion/years ago
(iirc it was reduced 2 or 3x to be what it is now)

I once tried making a character that do all the quest in normal elite and ultimate, the char is not for farming shards or ugdenbloom and the result kill once finish all secret quest is somewhere in 120k kill

Imo, playing Crucible is the most tedious activity in the game by far. I only played it for the achievements, glad I’ll never have to do it again.

Just a rough estimate, but for 250k kills in the main game, I’d say it’ll take ~150-180 hours with a good build that deals decent AoE damage and doesn’t die often. Estimate based on my 320k kills char which has currently 220 hours on the clock and never played Crucible.

you can get it in like 20hours iirc Maska correct
1000 maggots every 5mins (or was it 2mins?), 12000/hour
