Fire EoR Needs Some More Love

At present there’s only two items that buff the fire side of EoR and only 1 that helps convert it all to fire. Which limits fire and burn damage potential + EoR items that support it don’t have -RR% procs, which is a bit of an issue. As fire resist is really heavy in deeper SR, never mind IM/Fabius often spawning with high fire resists.

Ideally we’d have a set of armour etc, but that takes a lot of work vis modelling/balancing, but there is a itemisation place for an offhand, shield, medal, amulet or ring, either as a legendary or MI for providing some more support for fire focused EoR. And more lightning to fire sources of conversion as well.

eor has no burn potential the way it works
just like how you’re not aiming to squeeze dot onto AAR because it’s mechanically a bad type of skill for dot

why are you taking points into Demon Fire? - when you already have much higher DR in EoR itself??
likewise i don’t understand taking restless remains there, when you’re not maxed on attack speed, and you have haunted steel for more leech
*remember that EoR cheats so you’re not actually getting proper dual wield scaling with Alladrahs, making your current low flats that more significant

anyway, i think this was Eard’s setup (don’t remember if it was the final) Shieldbreaker, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.8) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator it did fine when i ran it on PTR

Except some burn damage is added to EoR, which definitely helps with the DPS :stuck_out_tongue:

As for my build using the 2nd node of BWC - helps hugely with mobs in SR when I’m not in lawn-mower range of them, as then EoR’s damage reduction isn’t being applied.

is it now i remind you that EoR hits 12x/sec and burn ticks fixed 1x/sec, and doesn’t scale on subsequent hits from same source?; so 2x390burn/3sec = 260burn/sec is “cute” at best against just EoR’s base dmg/dps :neutral_face:
*before we even factor in the divine dmg/dps of soulfire (which gets no burn either)

you also have vindictive flame with maxed Wrath taking care of outside eor distance :smile:
Demon Fire is beyond wasted on your setup :woozy_face: - in my humble opinion ofc

mathing it out as comparison for illustration, going off base dmg and no weapon dmg(which would just make it higher)
138+110+162(using min value) = 410
since you don’t have full 200 speed EoR hits is a little lower so instead of 12 you’re looking at 11 (rounded down since reasons) 410*11= 4510 base eor dps (remember still not factoring in wd)

then we have soulfire, you only have 10% of the phys converted there but assume high rolled alladrah lightning is 100% so that gives us 215+16,7
awesome part about soulfire is it attacks at fixed rate regardless of our speed, at a 0.2sec interval, so 231,7*5 =1158 min dps added to the previous 4500
technically “at minimum/average” soulfire tend to hit targets atleast twice, which could set your base eor dps up to 6826 but for comfort sake lets stick to the minimum so 5668 base EoR dps, vs 260… or 4.58% of EoR’s dps “at best” - only getting lower when adding wd and additional soulfire hits…

*you’re actually getting more burn dmg from Ulzuin Wrath than your EoR’s burn

The dagger actually converts all of the physical EoR damage to fire :stuck_out_tongue: And yes, I did check Grim Tools just to be sure lawl.

As for burn damage, sheet wise it’s actually much higher that your calculations. Leading to 60K ticks when all sources are used. Which isn’t much, but it helps.

Anyhow, modified it to take into account the issues with the 2nd node, plus moved points around.

Soft-capped Ulzuin’s Wrath to get the points because it works better with a build that buff’s it’s damage and can tank the results from UW drawing in every mob on the screen. And this build is definitely “glassy” in deeper SR. As shown by all the failed recordings I did last night while making stupid mistakes…

it doesn’t convert soulfire, because soulfire is a secondary effect

it’s exactly as i’m showing you, for EoR atleast; you literally have 0 other EoR burn sources than the 2x390 on the daggers, and since that’s a 3sec burn it results in 260 base burn, pretty simple math
any other burn you’re seeing is from VM/Rune, empy bros, fissure, and ofc meteor (and bwc/wrath)

i’d probably still just entirely ditch demon fire myself and get some more in various stuff, Haven etc, heck you’re 2pts from 4max res on resilence, you’re full converting flat phys so Temper is both dmg and DA, more RR to be squeezed out of empys = more lifesteal dmg done, so on
