Hello, i was wondering how much in-game time took for you to get the legendary set you really wanted? i`ve been farming the avenger set from AoM but 50 hours in i havent got a single drop from it.
I`m a player that commits to complete achievements bur right now im locked from completing tomb of heretic on Ultimate because my average build is 74 and i feel i need to get that set to be able to get the Magis and Riggs associates after that.
I farm Totems, Treasure Troves, Skeleton keys, Nemesis and crucible. I can only reach SR 15 right now, i also have crafted legendaries with the celestial forge but is so hard to get the materials too
Id say farm farm farm… and if you have the helmet recipe, you can craft 4 and transmute the other pieces. I came from the time without transmuting and well… it took a while. Most important is to get 100 with your first char, will make farming a lot easier (even with best eq you can get)
i have a 100 paladin which was my first non hardcore character and this character that is an Archon 100, your idea of transmuting the head piece is brilliant i will try it thanks, although i will have to get the blueprint too haha… but it opens doors
To be honest… I still have not got all items I really wanted as I need some Double Rare Items… But for my Shoulders it took around 740 hours ingame… farming farming farming… and then there they were… Here is a twitch clip from my finding! Watch about the mouse movement when I was hovering over the item which was still laying on the ground. There are no mousemovements for some seconds. Why? A raised both arms to the air I was really happy at this moment As annoying it is to wait… but the moment you get it… is a never forget moment!
and just a hint. There is a blueprint for Blueprint: Avenger’s Armor. if you find/have that you can build the armor and transform it to a different setitem of this set… I hope this was no spoiler…
skip all of that if you’re attempting to farm “specific” legendaries
key to farming legendaries is largely same session farming, since it reduces potential duplicates (same session = not going to main menu)
and those above sources, efficiency wise, are not great for legendary farming compared to other stuff, except for flavour farming
curious how high you can go in crucible if you can only reach sr15
also curious what your exact build is, if you can only reach SR15
if you want to massively increase your rate of “direct” legend acquisition, i recommend getting a budget kit going, they should be able to do sr 50 Ultimate easily
and then bringing that around, a potential super good starter farm for "same session"type farming, is SR 75-76 on Normal
spits out 6-8legends, is super easy and safe, should take 5mins, and it allows massive same session farming, where totem farming can get you to run out eventually before you need to force a restart
then you can eventually upgrade to SR farm on Elite or Ultimate, if your budget kit doesn’t straight up make you capable of that
as a bonus, aside from SR being good on the legend front because of same session farming and high quantity minimum guaranteed pay out, it also provides you blueprints
I can not imagine the feeling of finally obtaining that item you worked for hours and hours on end, good stuff. I like that feeling too but i feel Grim Dawn is the longest i have done so far, although im new with the ARPG genre
Last time I deleted all BPs for Hardcore, it took about 6 weeks to get Avengers Armor. Bad rolls, it was one of the last 20-30 BPs. (40+ hours per week) And that is using non-reset farming of either Elite 50-51 or Ultimate 35-36 in HC. Last BP is always the hardest, whatever it is, but do not reset the game, (if you are able) and just keep going.
Ask me how my Mythical Marrow Band farming is going on a SC SSF… dare you…
For a non-BP set, I would guess 100+ hours, RNG permitting. BP set you are stuck in the pool lotto - get it early great, otherwise, patience.
Your farming methods are not optimal. Get a functional budget build that does SR65-75 with decent consistency or CR170 3-4 times and do that. Totems, roguelikes, you’re wasting life.
I always recommend Silver Sentinel. If you got that blue 3pc set, a decent Spectral Longsword, any Gargoyle belt and those blue gloves with vitality to cold conversion - then start a new infiltrator and play that until you get gear and mats to farm further with your target build. Infiltrator, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator this should do SR65 and 75 even without a single purple except the boots which are common. Or Dark One, or Krieg - target farmable sets. Or just start a warlord a go to town, mastery and devotion stats will carry you to endgame with whatever gear you find.
It’s going to take a while to get any particular set since you’ll get the constituent pieces and blueprints bit by bit
Luckily 2H phys Archon is a super versatile class combo and you can slap a bunch of placeholder greens in while assembling the Avenger’s set - a good single rare Troll Bonecrusher is easy to target farm and should carry you through early Shattered Realm
Keep at the Shattered Realm and push as far as you can since even lower shards drop high frequencies of MIs and legendaries if you go up to 5 shards at a time. Double check your ring and weapon augments to see if you can get your OA and DA closer to 2800 each and your preferred damage type to 2000%, that’s a solid milestone for pushing higher
