Fishman say "haven't a fish near a fishman"

2 times in the year i have this message: autumn and spring

Just change their work radius. Click on the building and then move it around to get the best %.

Same Problem here: Sometimes its 0% everywhere on this lake … some time later and its working again. Its only temporary

over-fishing maybe ?
The blue icon means 50% increase in yield … but if there is no fish left …

Sounds like you are overfishing that water source.

They have a max work %. I see this message only when:

  • autumn ending and ice come on the water over shore
  • winter ending and spring is coming

UPD: now and when summer too

I had some odd bugginess with fishing, too. Sometimes moving the building helps. Sometimes it says “no fish” and then after a while decides there’s fish. Rather inconsistent.

And yeah fish seems to just disappear in some seasons, but I thought that was intentional.

It says that there is no fish in the lake.
You have 4 fishermen around a single lake, it’s too much.
Fish comes back, but then you overfish and no more.
etc…

I don’t think so, I even got it in the second year of using a 12 fish spot with only one shack. I thought about sending a save, but this issue also resolves if you reload the game. So I can’t send a save that recreates.

But I can add that whatever causes this bug, it is fixed by reloading!

It’s not so much about how many fishing spots you have for a fishing shack, but for how many fishing shacks you have on one body of water. Try it with 1-2 less fishing shacks on that lake and see if you still run out of fish.

I figured that out when i experienced this, but it would be good if the UI gave some indication of the fish stocks in a lake and a unique warning for overfishing

Yes to this. Some kind of status warning before all of them turn off at once would be nice.

But it does, you can see the number of fish in the lake.
For instance in my lake I have 248 fish. I did 2 shacks and it stays at 248. But if I build a third one, the number of fish may go down potentially to 0.
I don’t know the exact mechanic behind it, but fish number grows at a certain rate and if your fishermen take more than that, the number goes down and eventually reaches 0.

Maybe I realy had overfishing.

I had 6 fish spots.
I had 6 fishermen.
I deleted 3.

And nothing changed.
BUT I have a huge lake - 50K+ m2 and only 200 fishs and I can’t to setup 3 fishermen… It doesn’t sound good

If I understand right:

  • lake has 200 fishs
  • fisherman can get 13 (from statistic when I set up a fishing zone) and this count per month?

If yes, then: 13 * 12 - 156 fishes - I can have 1-2 fisherman max for this lake?

As I said I don’t know how this work and the rate at which fish “grows back” (which may be related to the % that we see in the UI - at work so can’t check)

@pantolomin how do you see that?

I have the same Problem.
One Moment they have fish, then they have no fish and then they have fish.

When you set the zone for your fisherman to fish, you have a little indication of the area, the number of fish and something else. Also, I think you have the number of fish when simply selecting your shack.
