Flickering effect around light sources such as braziers and torches flickers too much/too brightly

I’m not sure if this is new in v1.3.0, but I’ve only just noticed it. The flickering effects around torches and braziers etc. flickers a bit too much and is (in my opinion) somewhat reminiscent of an old incandescent light bulb that’s about to break, rather than the flickering of flames. I think it could be because the brightest tones in the effect are a bit too bright for fire and are approaching white light rather than orange/yellow light.

I like the effect and think it adds to environment, but a few tweaks would make it much better.

A good place to observe the effect is these two braziers on the bridge near the Asterkarn Mountains rift (which I’m sure used to have a static shadow effect) or the torch near the Asterkarn Road rift (below). Apologies for static images, I’ve not got a good way to capture video.

Totally agree this looks jarring. Feels more like a glitch than fire flicker. It looks like the frequency is way too high and the modulation type is square because it just jumps to new values immediately rather than linear or bezier transitions.

A good place to quick access is Devil’s Crossing → the blacksmiths furnace and fires around the area.

I also can’t recall if this was the case before 1.3. I hope this can be improved.
