Hello all! last dumb post! I promise (I feel like im starting to understand the game a lot more)
Well… I didnt like vindicator once i got past 80. I like being more mobile and having to drop rune isnt for me ( i forget… i die… its bad)
with that being said i got 62 on a soldier. levelling pure phys 2h with forcewave, still havent picked a second class yet.
are there any endgame builds that use forcewave? (looking for what second class to pick in honesty)
I’m not looking for godly top tier clearing, just a “get the job done” type. i love being tanky and mobile with it, and the aoe spread is awesome. (reminds me of my d3 days)
or does anyone have any other recommendations for a large aoe spread/tanky class like that?
For Forcewave actually I will go Warlord or DK.Presence of Virtue grants energy regen, also easy to unlock RR,Ascension against bosses.DK have passive RR,bunch of stats and MoT.
Its not finished, but do you think this would work? Just theorycrafting. problem is everthing wants to switch forcewave from phys. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/vNQYrWjN+
It says “build not found” for me. Just in case you don’t know: If you theorycraft a build in grimtools and want to link it or bookmark it, you should not copy-paste the browser url, but click on the triangular symbol on the left (looks a bit like this: “-<”) and click on “link to this build”. Then a url will appear in a small window in the middle of the screen. And THIS one you SHOULD copy-paste and link or bookmark.
I’ll add that Forcewave Witchblade is also pretty damn strong in that group with Death Knight and Warlord.
It has an healing skill with Blood of Dreeg that has flat OA, health regen, poison res and physical resistance. Curse of Fraility has physical resistance reduction and defensive ability reduction on Vulnerability. Second Rite flat vitality can actually be converted to physical with Gladiator’s Distinction belt.
All three are pretty good, so you can pick whatever of those three and get good results.
For physical FW either occultist or warlord or deathknight will all serve you well - but warlord (better energy management and pseudo pets to carry a devotion) or occultist (blood of dreeg can be really useful for balancing resists) would get my nod. I’m not a fan of deathknight for 2h forcewave.
You’d want to stay away from the tri-ele Aracnor build it seems as that usually uses inquis seal.
For endgame builds if you have access/want to get a Sharzul Worldeater and the Justicar set fire FW commando is a very powerful contender as well. Although some may not like using the thermite mines.
For mana issues are you using an Arcane Spark component on your medal. That’s always a good place to start for energy woes on weapon damage builds.
I feel like Commando is too glassy and mines are clunky, for fire WL or Tactician should be better. For physical all three combos seems fine and Harp is in the devotion route,so no energy concerns.
Scars of Battle and Military conditioning are 2 of the best soldier passives imo (although there are so many good ones to choose!) Reallocate some points here from Warcry (no real reason to overcap either of these) and Oleron’s Rage (again, no reason to overcap this… yet, it might be worth chasing a +1% OA at the level cap)
Some of those greens, especially the gloves, are holding you back. Get some elemental resistances - and if possible cast speed- on your gloves. Some crafted Adept’s Grips with elemental resistances would go a long way for you and those aren’t even that good. Don’t be afraid to give up a few % of physical damage if it nets you a lot of needed resistances at this point.
From all Forcewave builds fire with Shar’Zul weapon has always been the strongest. Warlord is currently the best, I think. Followed by tactitian and 3 laps behind by commando.
Other than Assassin’s Mark - it should really be bound to Forcewave itself if your crit chance is decent - and the 2 points into Hammer which could be moved into the first point of Dire Bear and the first point of Ulo, Keeper of Waters which will give you some good returns right now your devotions aren’t ‘wrong’ per say… but seem a bit unfocused. What T3 constellation(s) are you aiming to get? Are you trying to be a more defensive or offensive route, there are multiple ways to go with Forcewave and I can’t tell which you are trying for atm.
On the gear front, you need a new weapon, gloves and pants ASAP as well as to shuffle some componenets. For weapon you have the right base item but really should get one with ‘of celerity’ or ‘of ruin’ (or any rare suffix which ups cast speed and/or physical damage) you can make up the lost lifesteal by getting Soael Sect pants from the 2nd hidden path boss in normal mode (literally ANY sect pants are better than what you’ve got) gloves could be just about any are, the adepts as said above, or or even Rhowari gloves with 16% cast speed.
For components gloves should always have Restless remains when playing FW spam, 3% lifesteal and 10% cast speed is just too good not to use. Weapon should be a severed claw until you can get the access to Seals of Might or Blades. With your current belt you have loads more posion res than you need, but are very light on elemental resistances. Trade our your antivenom salve on the helm for a Runestone, and get a Wardstone on your necklace.
Here’s a somewhat updated version. Slight tweak to your current weapon, it shouldn’t take too long to find one better than what you’ve got tbh. I’ve balanced the resistances for starting Elite difficulty using mostly components and changing out pants/gloves as mentioned above (with very easy to acquire stand-ins). Also harp is added in as a stop-gap to help with energy until you can get access to Arcane Spark component. Cons - you lose your falcon swoop proc.
PS. Make sure to keep the bloody whetstone from your current weapon! You’ll need that for crafting relic upgrades, even if it is kinda a rubbish component to equip.
I personally am confused cause almost never play physical, but go to Assassins’ mark-mandatory,Ulzaad,also is very good,Azraaka-dubious if you don’t have appropriate skill to proc it(Warlord does),also go to Mace, which is a devotion almost no one picks.Defensive devotion route is to get Empyrion and bottom row of Menhir. The dedicated physical T3 devotion is Oleron, idk how good is now,but before FG my builds was quicker without any T3 constellation, than with Oleron.
