I’m really new to the game and I’ve decided to follow:undecided: the Brimstone Gunslinger build for now with my pyromancer. I’m struggling a bit with Devotion progression however. It’s a new system thats a little confusing to me and I’m hoping for some guidance/help.
I’d like to get to Solael’s Witchblade but I’m confused as how to BEST get there? In order, can someone help draw up a good progression for a DW FS Pyromancer build?
Currently I have Falcon bound to my FS, but I think thats wrong since I guess I want the witchblade?
The Brimstone Gunslinger includes devotion paths for all variations under “Suggested Devotion’s and Variations”. I’m going to assume you want DPS so here it is:
1 Point Red Crossroads
4 Points Viper - Remove 1 point Red Crossroads
1 Point yellow Crossroads
5 Points Tortoise - Skill Bound to Solael’s Witchfire
5 Points Crane
1 Point Green Crossroads
3 Points Hawk - Remove 1 point green Crossroads
1 Point Purple Crossroads
4 Points Empty Throne - Remove 1 Point Purple Grossroads
3 Points Light of the Scholar
7 Points Chariot of the Dead - Skill Bound to Flame Touched - Remove 3 points from Light of the Scholar
5 Points Solael’s Witchblade - Skill Bound to Fire Strike
4 Points Rhowan’s Crown - Skill Bound to Flashbang
4 Points Hydra - along the bottom
6 Points Scales of Ulcama - Skill bound to Vindictive Flame - Remove 1 Point yellow from Crossroads
4 Points Targo the Builder - To HP node
^ very outdated imo. It was written way back when offensive devotions were bad and defensive devotion were of utmost importance. A lot of stuff changed since then.
EDIT:
Quite ironic that a setup I won’t even get on HC due to way too big focus on defense was called “DPS” back then.

Can you give me some more “up to date” suggestions?
Or can anyone verify the build order is out of date and not relevant anymore?
EDIT: I see why I didnt find it on the build page, I clicked the “Show” section of “DPS - 68k~Dps by Ironpunta” and within there it didn’t seem like a devotion build progression, didn’t see the DPS, Tank, Hybrid ones below, thanks!

Moreover, I haven’t played GD for 3 months already.
Being that the above list and The Brimstone Gunslinger build have been deemed out of date on Devotions, is someone currently playing an FS Pyromancer that has a good devotion progression/setup chain they could share? Really hoping to have some guidance on this, perhaps it’s because I don’t understand what’s “out of date” about the other build or what has been nerfed/hasn’t since I’m new to the game?
