Game can't load characters from either cloud nor desktop

Title.

I downlaoded all my characters from cloud, disabled cloud, copied it into my:
/my games/grim dawn/save/main
Restarted game bunch of times and I still don’t see any of them. I created a new character which I can see in both game and amongst the old characters in the save file. How do I enable my characters? I tried all guides, nothing happens, my characters are sitting in my folder and the game is pretending as if they didn’t exist. I disabled cloud on steam too.

Did you turn Cloud Save off in both GD options and Steam settings?
Also, did you at some point play those other characters with any of the DLC, i.e. Ashes of Malmouth or Forgotten Gods? If so, do you still have the DLC installed? Maybe you uninstalled them or unselected them to play with someone else?

Click on Steam in the top left corner of your screen then to down to Settings and look for this

Make sure cloud saving is off in there as well.

Yeah it looks like he placed them correctly. If I had to guess it seems like cloudsaving isn’t properly turned off. That would be the only reason they aren’t showing up.

I tried to disable cloud saving across all games too. Did it again and no change. When I turn Cloud saving on, on both steam and GD, it shows no characters at all (test was created today, locally). But, GD can download the characters from Cloud… This all seems like some sort of incompatibility, but last time I played GD was 2019’s christmas holidays, so that should not be the case. Losing all characters would be really bad as you might see from achieves I had a really nice progression overall.

If you want you could zip up some of your character files and drop them into the forum editor and i could try them out to see if they show up in my game. If they appear in my game that would mean something is wrong or set wrong on your end. If they don’t then that could mean something is wrong with the save files themselves.

Couldn’t hurt to verify game files.

I did verify, didn’t work either. I can not share files because this is a new acc, apperantly they didn’t transfer accs from old forums.

We did, but if an account is very old and unused then the system may have purged it.

Sounds about right, the acc was old as the game and I wrote like 3 messages.
