Game finished - or not?

Beta Testing and Early Access are the SAME THING.

Corporateho-speak notwithstastanding.

Beta Testing is NOT an inhouse activity, and NEVER HAS BEEN.

Inhouse testing is Alpha.

Just because some sh!tbag/lawyer taught them to pretend otherwise, does not alter fact.

Beta Testing requires an array of physical computer set-ups far too diverse for developers to maintain.

That’s why the public, and their equipment, is involved.

The irrefutable proof of this is simple.

‘Does the Developer’s “Early Access” website have a system of Bug Reporting that they grant to EA participants?’

Answer: They all do.

Guilty.

Yet I did take part in beta testing of FF before it went into early access. Beta testing is different with Crate. It lasted a few months before the game went into EA. Alpha testing for them is what they do before we even get our hands on it.

In case you hadn’t noticed there are people here with the Praetoian role - this indicates that they are closed beta testers for Crate. We test the expansions for GD before they get released although there is some public testing of patches as well that others can take part in if they wish. We also closed beta tested the recent DLC for FF.

You can try to parse it any way you wish.

Beta Testing doesn’t happen until a public distribution of the code is sampled across a wider array of machines than the developer is capable of maintaining.

‘Early Access’ is simply a dirtbag lawyer-mouth way of devaluing the public’s input.

The volume of back and forth in the Bug Reporting forum should give you cause to pause and reflect on your statements.

And question the effectiveness of Crate’s system.

The Mass Die-Offs people were seeing at choke points is something that should have been caught by Alpha (much less Beta).

But hey, ‘Early Access’ will do, eh?

Mate, this isn’t a AAA company.

Perhaps you need to just play other games?

Maybe don’t buy early access games if you don’t like running into bugs and the like?

Complaining doesn’t really help anyone in either case.

What makes you think I don’t?

And, the size of the company has nothing to do with how much lawyer-speak gibberish their mouthpieces use.

Please, show me where I complain about bugs.
Because, I don’t.
I complain about corporate-culture ruining the gaming industry, the same way it has ruined everything else it touches.
You have misread, and misinterpreted, my words.
School more, gibber less.

The fact that you’re here whining about this game still. As if there weren’t real problems in the world you could be putting this energy into.

Umm, all your posts here? You’re whining about “beta testing” That’s bugs. What did you think beta testing was?

I have not. I did not say you were complaining about bugs specifically. You’re just complaining in general and it’s not constructive feedback, so literally the only thing it achieves is annoy people (probably including yourself).

I usually try not to reply to these kind of things, but you were being especially rude. Please find something better to do with your time.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension.

Unless you’re willing to pay me to tutor you, please do so elsewhere.

Assumptions are only a virtue to the lower orders.

Before opening your mouth again, try engaging your brain first.

Do a little search on all the constructive efforts I have already made here, before you make an ass of yourself again.
