i found the game in normal is too difficult. Too much to think about like the many defenses against the different damage typs. Many Boss opponents are overpowerd like hell and you can not get enough defense against their type of damage (mostly is aether and chaos). And nobody can point me to a certain build or a guide to play the game a bit safer so that i dont die a lot. In my opinion, this game like many others needs a easy difficulty setting. It seems developers are able to make games like this harder than normal whitout any limit. But it seems impossible for them to think about the “casual gamers” like me and implement an easy difficulty. For me the game makes no fun if it is such hard.
Heh, I wonder what build you’re using? 'Cos it’s not that tough at all, the only problems are at first, the game can be overwhelming 'cos of the number of choices you get. That’s why you’re better off using builds others have made and then go your own way later on.
If you want a build with self-found gear and combat not that tough, try this. Trickster the bleeding heart(though on pg 10, I think he made some changes):
Also make sure to get your resistances and health regen up. If you’ve done A Sister’s Gift, make sure you use that necklace(hopefully, you didn’t sell it off).
If your health goes down quite low, run off to somwhere safe and stand to regen health. Then, return to battle.
i have all equipment on which i can get. But i can hardly kill the opponent on the sisters gift mission. It is like i say: too difficult. I have taken a look on this trickster build and i think i can try it out with the Nightblade.
its not too difficult. you’re just new and still need to learn to play. too make it easier the developers already added guranteed green items for you to find and from quests to get you started. if you still mess up then i don’t know how you manage to do that. Just invest points in your mastery bar instead of boosting a single skill too max is an often mistake by beginners. other then that you can’t do much wrong.
On normal you don’t have too worry about resistances against damage types yet. Heck at the end of normal you still get by with 20% resists. And the quest from the slith necklaces you get a ring with 10% all elements resist. Self found gear should work to fill in the minor needs your character has early on.
You can even finish normal with 1 single mastery and no need of a second one. That’s how easy it already is. Sure there are a few areas/opponents that are deliberately out of your reach to defeat like Gutworm and Salazar’s occult sanctuary or burial hill secret area. but other then that you shouldn’t run into issues unless you’re really going out of your way to mess things up.
I’d recommend posting your build using https://grimcalc.com/ , so we can help you out more.
Normal can defiantly suck for a beginner but once you start to learn the game normal becomes child’s play. and Gibly ninja’d the rest of what i was gonna say :p;)
Skilled out 50 mastery points for soldier first, the only skill I used was blade arc and it’s secondary. The one problem was mana, so I had to use components for that and not raise the secondary too quickly. After that, I put points into curse of frailty. Used a big two-hander the whole time.
well for me the game is too difficult for me in normal. And i can not selffound a good build. I tryed over 170 hrs and latest i come to mission old scars. The second of the tree boss opponents looked in my eyes and i was dead. Nooooooo i dont have to worrie about resistences . Therefore i say: i need a prefeteched build.
3.) Looks like you want NO challenge whatsoever. Or invest time to learn about the game mechanics. Or do all the other things one has to do to “suceed” in this game. Maybe Grim Dawn just isn´t for you.
Grim Dawn is the first isometric my friend tried, he absolutely loved it. He was breezing through Veteran when Cadence was weak piece of shit skill. So i don’t know why you think the game is too hard.
All you need in normal mode is to put points in your masteries to build up your health/energy pools and offense/defense ratings and some attack skills and you are ready to go. All you have to do is to click on the monsters, drink potions when your status bars go down and go back to the town to resell/rebuy and that’s it. Any decent build can go through the first 2/3 of normal mode with no problem whatsoever and without specific strategy or advanced items.
You then have access to the faction vendors at level 35, right when you are going into the first bosses who begin to be serious, and then to the first “really good” items at level 50, right before facing the final boss.
Plus, if you are not playing hardcore, your only penalty for dying is to see your character standing up again. So where is your difficulty? You have died 20 times, so what? It is not going to change anything. Your guy is still exactly the same.
If you have troubles with experimental builds, I would suggest first to go through the game with core builds, like a blade arc soldier: put all your points into the soldier mastery, the blade arc ability and the physique/resistance passives, assign the blade arc attack to your left clic, health potion to your right-clic, and you are good to do: Left clic on monster, right clic when they hit you, pick up the loot, resell everything you don’t need, equip everything you need.
I agree however that the damage types are a mess. But this is no problem in normal mode, where raw health points and basic armor/defense are enough. Plus the monsters are also too weak to really be a threat.
If you invest all your points into skills and not bother pumping the mastery bar as high as possible then you will fail big time and find GD very hard as the Mastery bar is the main thing keeping your char alive as it’s the only means of increasing your health. Beginners guide to skill points 2 points per level into the mastery bar and 1 point per level into a skill
well i think you are right. The game isnt for me. Sombedody told me Diablo III is easyer. Maybe i should try this. Thread can be closed and my account can be deleted. Thank you
Seems Magentus has already called for the thread to be closed, making any further discussion unnecessary. There’s no need to chastise someone for their opinions, unless you’re looking to make the community smaller for some reason. Good on you for those who tried to help otherwise.
