Hi guys, I’ve been playing GD for a while now. Letting it ruining my life
But the gameplay experience becomes less pleasing when sometimes, especially when there’s many enemies and stuff going on. Theres FPS drops and lowering graphic quality doesnt seem to improve the condition.
Can somebody help me to point out which part of my system bottlenecks the game’s performance?
I am still running an i5 2500K as well, along with a GTX 970 and the game runs smooth most of the time. Every now and then I get a little glitch when there is a bunch of stuff going on, but otherwise I am satisfied with how it runs. I am still running Win7 also with 8 GB RAM and an SSD(which I feel helps alot in games).
I have every setting maxed out, but I am running Vsync to cap the FPS at 60 Hz, which is the same as my monitor.
Mine is smooth most of the time as well, and changing graphic setting doesnt affect anything. Tho i dont play on maxed settings.
It’s not lag or stutters, but more like lower fps, not that smooth especially in areas that have multi levels/storeys.
Anything i can do? Other than upgrading or overclocking?
I’ve seen this issue, and a few times it has been because of a program running in the background. So maybe turning off anti virus or any other random programs/apps could in theory help GD run better. sorry i cannot be more specific as the few times ive seen this it has been caused by different programs.
Its the same for all, some areas with big battles cause drop in fps. Its cos the engine itself is old, I dont think any more optimization is coming soon.
Sad to know that the problem is common.
I usually dont have any background processes other than my AV and browser to surf this forum. Guess i will have to try turning them off.
Imo, big battles with lots of mobs contributes a good portion to the game’s addictive combat and having fps drops somehow undermines that. Bummer.
