I have posted something similar to this on the steam forums… but here is the gist
**General Assumption **
- The war in grim dawn killed all the remaining humans
- Surviving humans evolved through breeding with ethereals = gods
- The pantheon of gods / titans are last ones remaining of (2)
Proof
-
no guns in TQ, but there are thrown knives ‘ancient relics’.
1.1) no crafting as humans have lost ability to use science
-
NPCs in grim dawn are weak with no abilities, all npcs in TQ can do magic, and fight magic creatures without dying
2.1) we got all same elements as the MC
- We killed everyone as MC, the telekine explicit states multiple times their is more ancient magic at play in TQ universe.
3.1) Crucible is in both games, which is the same dimensions
**Speculation **
-
Beast man in TQ are similar to enemies In grim dawn but more weaker and primal- as all remaining monsters are hybrids of humans and etherials [either regressed or evolved]
-
almost all etherials in TQ are ghosts sealed in memphis. If humans tried to survive the war. It makes sense they would lock themselves inside a safe magical structure [where still transformed]
-
The MC of Tq is the Mc of grim dawn reborn. Due to his amnesia he spawns on the street naked. Because of this amnesia they level significantly slower then in grim dawn.
…. But that is just a theory, a game theory LOL. Do you agree? Let me know
Uh, I mean, TQ is based on different real life mythologies so that’s why there’re gods and other mythical creatures like satyrs, harpies, terracota soldiers, etc. GD is a whole different universe with its own mythology with gods and whatnot.
Um, first of all “thrown knives” vere added with Ragnarok, and it was made by THQ Nordic, who doesn’t have anything to do with the original dev team of Iron Lore / Crate Ent.
Secondly, if they “lost the ability to use science”, how can they have all that shiny armor and weapons? And we all know that ancient Greeks were a smart bunch. Their inventions are used in one form or another till this very day!
And I don’t follow that Crucible argument. If by Crucible you mean Tartarus (which, again, was added recently in Atlantis, which - again! - was “made” by THQ Nordic), then I don’t see how this is the “same dimension”. Tartarus is the deepest pit where souls are being tormented for all eternity - or whatever, I’m not too savvy in Greek mythology. So Hell, basically. And Crucible is more like a gladiator arena run by Lokarr, yet another Grim Dawn’s celestial being?
With this logic you can connect TQ with anything, where beings can gain tons of power. Just say, that they decided to pack up their stuff and leave to create their own world with black jack and hookers.
Not sure on this one, the Witch God groups that fight out in the field (like for example just after you leave the Vanguard of the Three) seem capable enough.
