Gamepad for Melee got awful

Previously, melee builds would move and attack if the monster was out of reach. Now it attacks on place, which makes melee play on the controller quite frustrating.

Is there any way to change this behavior to the old one?

Has it ever been the case? It must have been a few years ago.
I think a switch in options for that would be good.

Maybe, but if I recall correctly, than probably no more than 1 year ago.
I just haven’t tried my melee chars on a gamepad recently (or maybe it was the reason why I played on a gamepad mostly with my dagallon purifier).

Up for the switch (considering it has option for mouse+keyboard).

Classic casting doesn’t help, would be cool if it would.
