One of my favorite ‘mods’ for Titan Quest (actually applied through the TQ Defiler) was that which made enemies only drop items of Rare quality or higher. That, in turn, meant that enemies would only use items of Rare quality or higher, and thusly could be using extremely powerful gear that could annihilate a player if they weren’t careful.
Now, Grim Dawn is a vastly different game from what Titan Quest offered, namely in that the speed of GD is far hastier than that of TQ. This only means that it’s a lot easier to just suddenly die even when enemies don’t have perfect gear.
…in this mod, they do. All of them. Any enemy capable of wielding gear will be using an item with a Rare Prefix and a Rare Suffix (or an Epic or a Legendary). This may seem like cheating to some (and maybe it is) as it will be very easy to get very good gear. To me, however, this is just an excessively gargantuan challenge to overcome, and if you do, you will be duly compensated for your efforts.
Some screens of the aftermath of mere minor battles:
Can you survive in a world where every enemy is essentially omniponent? Prove it.
Note: It’s not actually guaranteed that enemies will drop RarePrefix/RareSuffix gear. There is a very slim chance that other items can drop. In the above images, only one pure white item dropped and no yellow items dropped.
You’ve made many quality of life, altered gameplay, and balance mods, and have catered to a wide variety of people with your work. I hope this level of ambition and motivation gets you the recognition and opportunities that you deserve. Thanks for your hard work.
Dang i have never played Modded Titan Quest. And this Mod sounds cool and terrifying. And i like grinding but i dont have too much time so it even gives Players with less time Great Gear.
It is mergeable with Cornucopia? Right?
hi guyz
im new to this game, can u tell why i cant save progress in this mod? For example i had full inventory of gear then i quit to main menu and login in to game again. After openin inventory, its empty? if i playin in stroy mode everything is fine with loot. what can it be? please help
This mod alters affix rates, not base item rates. Changing base item rates would involve altering enemy files to be more likely (or completely guaranteed) to equip their monster infrequent items. While this is entirely doable, it’d bloat the size of the mod and take a lot of work, AND wouldn’t be forward-compatible with new enemies/items (whereas this is forward-compatible with all updates that don’t change the gameengine.dbr).
Hello. I was just unsure if this mod is working correctly for me. As I’ve been only getting whites and a yellow once in a while just like I would in the vanilla game.
I extracted the folder “RarePlus” into the game’s /mods folder, started the game up, and a custom game with the selection RarePlus ~ world001.map.
Is there something I missed? Maybe the mod doesn’t really kick in until later in the game? I’m level 7 and cleared a few story quests up to Wightmire and have yet to see a single green item like in the screenshots.
Not to sound ungrateful, but would it be possible to provide instructions to merge this with gril for all of us who do not know anything about merging mods?
