GC's build showcase - dw Blademaster and 2h Warder

Yea, Brute Force is half as effective as Dual Blades before considering that damage from Dual Blades goes to both weapons (making it effectively 4 times less effective). This skill needs a buff. +1000 base piercing damage sounds like fun though…

And you have to account for the extra 4 points giving 85 + 3% OA when going for SotH since you get access to Dying God. If it wasn’t for that, SotH would be much less appealing.

Chariot needs a buff, it’s just awful right now. Removing the stupid 10% vitality resistance node alone would make it much more effective.

Another thing about going to SotH is that even though you lose the awesome Reckless Tempest proc, you can take the Hungering Void for an extra two points in Dying God. The extra attack speed and crit damage is pretty awesome, I just don’t like the negative regeneration. It’s 100% to activate so you can stick it onto Blitz giving you a good amount of control over when you use it.

Hi Great Guide! Do you have a guide for plotting devotions for 2 hand warder?

I have update my BM and its much more easier for me. Need more resist, i’m still low.

Could you priorise the stats for DPS cause, i have a lots of weapon which provide me more sheet DPS, mainly cause of the bleeding stats but it seems that we need more to prioritize on PIERCE / PHYSICAL / COLD, am i right ?

Do you have any good blue / green stuff for 70+ that can be used ?

Armor piercing %/flat pierce > cold > physical > other worthless damage types :stuck_out_tongue:

https://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/ Use this to check out all possible blues, greens, and prefix/suffixes. Factions sell some good gear (homestead rings come to mind, haven’t bought faction gear in forever so don’t remember them much), some decent blues for nightblade, for greens dermapteran claws/slicers are good weapons as the have 55% pierce (full 100% conversion with blades of nadaan devo) and you can find an one fairly quickly in the royal hive and maybe get lucky and find a god tier one. Keep an eye out for duelist sabre epic and it’s empowered version. High armor pierce %, flat pierce, and a ton of attack speed

It’s in the GrimCalc link, click “Devotion” button in the top right.

I got some stuff I can spare, sure. I can craft Spellbreaker Waistguard, Dethmarked hat and Belgothian’s Carnage. Also have a ton of Grasps and Golemborn boots, tough they have sub-optimal rolls. Add me (generalcash @Steam), I will probably be online tonight.

Hell, I still have a ton of Carnages I crafted looking for the right skill bonuses, I can give you one of those if you can’t craft it yet. If you struggle with damage, this relic is the best way to improve it: just get Shadow Strike to 16+ and spam it on tougher enemies. The relic will refresh it every 3 seconds, giving you double SS for 600% of your total weapon damage along with around 18000 piercing + cold. It’s obscene.

Thoughts on replacing Lizard with Viper instead? The debuff means more burst damage along with the awesome 3% OA for an extra point. It provides vit resistance as well which is great.

Lizard(3 pts)

  • 16 Health regen
  • 30% Constitution
  • 20% health regen

VS

Viper(4pts)

  • 10 spirit
  • 15% Chance of 36 Energy Leech over 2 Seconds
  • 10% Energy absorbed from Enemy Spells
  • 10% Vitality Resistance
  • 3% Offensive Ability
  • 20% Reduced target’s Elemental Resistances for 3 Seconds

oO will add you later, at minimum to share your experience on BM and give me some advices !. I’m only lvl 71 on this character. Many thanks !

Thanks ! will keep this in mind. Could be awesome for new players to have this in mind in the initial post for the leveling stuffing.

You have to keep in mind requirements (20 Blue and 8 Red devotion).

Exact math is:

Lizard + Red crossroads + 1 point Revenant or Hourglass or Empty Throne(5 pts)

  • 16 Health regen
  • 30% Constitution
  • 20% health regen
    - 5% health
  • 3% lifesteal + small energy leech OR 30 to all Attributes OR 15% stun resistance

VS

Viper + Blue crossroads (5pts)

  • 10 spirit
  • 15% Chance of 36 Energy Leech over 2 Seconds
  • 10% Energy absorbed from Enemy Spells
  • 10% Vitality Resistance
  • 3% Offensive Ability
  • 20% Reduced target’s Elemental Resistances for 3 Seconds
    - 15 Defensive Ability

These setups are both valid imo and you won’t see much difference switching between them.

I used to run Viper (as I do on almost all chars), but switched to the current setup so I could max out stun resistance for Avatar of Mogdrogen more easily. When I realised how much extra regen I got (keep in mind the Signets give a massive bonus to regen, around +150%), I never switched back.

Essence of Chthon gives me % resistance reduction (yea, it’s 10% chance to activate, but Falcon Swoop will debuff everything for 20% when it procs) which also reduces lifesteal resistance so I would use it anyway. 3% OA is not as good on this char because of the massive % OA bonuses from other sources (23% total with Signets proc IIRC). Mana fixing is useless for Savagery (would definitely do Viper with Primal Strike!) and vitality resistance can be maxed trough other sources, but it’s rarely useful.

In the end, I like the 3% lifesteal I get from a spare devotion point (I have enough Mantles of Mogdrogen now to not bother with Avatar anymore, mb I’ll hit him on ultimate some day just to see if I can) too much, it’s actually noticeable.

Leveling is always the same for every character.

  1. Complete Falcon at the Burrwich estates Shrine.
  2. Max Primal Strike, Blade Arc or Brimstone with 10 levels in Fire strike early (in that order of priority) if your character has access to those skills. Get Mistborn Talisman if not.
  3. Pick up the fastest 2-hander you can find (some yellow of Alacrity will do, there is also a lvl 17 blue axe which works).
  4. Whack things.
  5. By the time you reach Homestead, you should have Hawk, Lizard and Kraken (in that order). Start working up to the Behemoth proc (3 points).
  6. Once you have completed this constellation setup, pick up all the procs you want to use later so you start levelling them. They level much faster once you hit Ultimate, so don’t worry if you can’t take them all right away.
  7. At lvl 35, buy Solar Sledge, Rover gloves (pick the ones with the highest attack speed, reload the game a few times until you hit at least 16%) and greaves. Fill your other slots with relevant Faction gear, Kymon and Crossing shops have good things for most characters. Check out the rings and medals at lvl 40, don’t remember which are good.
  8. Pick up Shadow Strike or Blitz (in that order of priority) if you can. If not, use Riftstone as soon as you can. Makes things go much faster.
  9. Ectoplasms everywhere to solve mana issues. Scaled Hide in both shoulders and pants. Chains of Oleron in your torso armor.
  10. Whack more things.
  11. Invest in skills that give attack speed and Offensive ability, damage bonuses and active skills are not that important.
  12. Don’t neglect mastery points, you want at least 5000 health before fighting Yetis and those large Aetherials.
  13. At level 50, equip Avarice of Androneus and the full Praetorian set. If you don’t have the Praetorian, use armor/helm from the Legion shop.
  14. Stonefist is a great replacement for Solar Sledge. If you don’t have it, check the shops for a lvl 55 2-hander of Alacrity/Rifthound with a decent bonus. Grasp of Unchained Might and Golemborn Greaves are lvl 50 requirement as well, so use those if you have them.
15.a) Keep whacking things with your 2-hander until you reach lvl 65/68/75 for your endgame gear. Respec into whatever build you want your character to be.
15.b) If you don’t have your endgame gear, get to Pine Barrens in Elite, then craft legendaries unit you have what you need. Farm components in the Hallowed Hill.

Guess I will put this on the front page as well.

GC,

any idea how augment will be change ?

As you know i didnt take Kymon and want to change, but maybe i will wait a little bit

You can pick it in Homestead on every difficulty, so just wait until act 3 Ultimate.

Think you dont understand, as there is some changes on next patch on augment, do you think it is mandatory to go Kymon ?

In the same way, some impact on devotions with the next patch ?

FYI, since our meet IG, iam now 80, nearly 81 and will farm components to have my complete set ! Again Thanks !

Ah, I had no idea, though it probably should be fixed since the augment is very abusable. A good alternative if the augment is nerfed, in order to not waste points on War Cry, is to use Oleron’s blood in one of your weapons, the active skill also applies a damage reduction.

Hello GC. What relic do you recommend for BM levelling, please? 1st I used Bladesworn talisman, now on 35+ I will probably switch to Slaughter (+1 NB tree), which should be better than Bladedancer´s. Top tier relic will be Belgothian as you already mentioned in guide.

Oh and I´d like to know about Kymon´s too, if their augment will be still BiS or not when 1.0.0.4 will come. And what about Anasteria? I need to kill her, need to farm Outcast´s Secret from her and on my 85 lvl sorc I can´t because we´re friends. So I want to know if my BM need Outcasts as friends or not. Thanks for any advice.

Yea, Mistborn until 55, then Slaughter, Nemesis and finally Belgothian’s carnage at 70.

I do Anesteria with my 40 physique BM because she hits like a truck. The 25 physique one can do it, but not as safely. In either case, hit-n-run is your best strategy, don’t get caught by her Devastation. I will post an Anesteria video once I get back home (saturday probably).

As for the Outcast reputation, I become friendly with her in Normal and don’t even accept the quest in Elite. By the time I reach her in Ultimate, I usually have Revered without ever doing a quest/bounty (they give negative Legion rep so they suck). Then I buy out all the useful stuff from her (Outcast’s Bastion and the armor augments) and become Hostile. She can then be farmed on Ultimate for the hat. After getting enough hats, you can open an Elite game, accept the quest and become Friendly again. You can’t farm her anymore, even in Ultimate, but you can buy stuff from her shop in Elite.

You meant until 35, probably typo. Thank you for the info.

I am still using two Duelist´s sabres, I was so lucky I dropped two, not so long after 1st dropped, I found second. They´re awesome, will there be any replacement (of course until I will pick up Deathmarked ones, but 1st I must farm them on my sorc, unbelievable that this set didn´t dropped yet for me or for my friends) or are there any other recommended weapons? I am lvl 40 atm.

On my BM, I went two handed Blade Arc until 65, then I made the switch. Things died insanely fast, and it was easy enough to switch later on.

Nono, I mean 55 because that’s the requirement for Shard of Beronath, and you need the mist born attack modifier before you can equip Shard.

But yea, 2-hander with Blade arc is stronger than dw before 75.

Where you been?

I am not an expert in theorycraft sorry guys for my neverending questions, could you (or anybody else) please explain this to me a little bit more? Shard of B. could be equipped at 55 lvl, at that time I should switch to Slaughter relic right?

I thought Slaughter´s Bloodbath would be better for me now due to it´s nice bleeding AOE. But it seems Mistborn, due to its charges, would be significantly better for my DPS till 55 lvl, this is what you wanted to tell me?

EDIT: yeah I tried it now and DPS went up for about 3k  I am an id…t what a shame.
