What does “+200 Damage to Aetherials” mean here? What damage type is this? Physical? (but why? it doesn’t say so in the desription). Some special “irresistible” damage type that just adds 200 on top of everything no matter what player stats or monster resistances are? Something else?

Just curious…

My understanding, after a few thousand hours of game time, is that damage like this is treated as Physical Damage that is only increased by % All Damage and % Racial Damage. I have no idea whether it is mitigated by Armor or Resists, but it is mitigated by Absorption (Fabius with an -of Murder weapon still does no damage through Blade Barrier/Mirror) and is scaled by % Weapon Damage.

It’s probably also a relic from Titan Quest times. In TQ physical damage was called just “damage”, which was pretty confusing back in the day as well.
