Greetings!

Hello I’m Darwinism, and I love ARPGs and shooters. I also love science, and just got my MS in Biology. Mostly interested in Evolutionary biology and microbiology. I am teaching myself C++ and python in my spare time at the moment because with the way biology is going, computing is becoming more and more important. I noticed in the modding that mods can be scripted in Lua, how similar is that to C++?

Welcome to the forums!

I’ve worked with a biology professor in the past (macromolecular modeling in particular, though), computing is definitely getting places in that area. I just wish scientists would pick up some software engineering, though, some of the stuff they write is abysmal. It’s hard to get good in both disciplines like that, though, and biology at large won’t attract software engineers.

Lua is a very simple language. It’s probably a bit closer to Python than Lua, but if you can handle languages like Python or C++ you’ll be fine with Lua. Lua tutorials: http://lua-users.org/wiki/TutorialDirectory
