In single player d2 lod it is quite many, 97-99 for each char is about 400 hours. The lightning sorc did about 14k nila runs!
In D2R I have many more because 97-99 is only about 40-50 hours due to TZ
That is simply not true. There might be more people playing D2R today than D3 but not D4, not even close. I think a ladder reset in D2R might draw a couple of hundreds of thosands of players, in D4 we are talking about 2-3 million…D3 has the same order of magntude of players as D2R a couple of 100 000…
I am not gonna glorify it for sure. I love the game, but I can look at it objectively and state the facts (like it is not the most popular diablo game for instance) and what its flaws are.
The fact that you wrote that it is the most popular diablo game is just a proof that you are too deep into the fumes that you can not think criticially about it.
Define best and better. It is all subjective and up to taste. I only gave you the numbers since you claimed that D2R is the most popular diablo game, which is a false statement.

It is soo deep look at the horadric cube the crafting system is soooo good (endgame builds… well whatever endgame in D2 is … uses only crafted caster amulets at most, and uses the cube maybe to cube up runes unless you use runes as currency on botnet) and it is still the most popular diablo game (even diablo immortal has more active players) it is an online game with seasons but we do not want grim dawn to be an online game because seasons games can still be sucksful. And why does all builds use the same items??? (Enigma, Hoto, shako, spirit, arach, skiller inventory…) soo deeeeeeeep
You don’t seem to understand what this games are actually about.
No one forces you to follow a build and use certain items catered towards it. You can do your own take or follow a build guide like many do in the ARPG space even Grim Dawn.
It called creativity and I’ve built characters in D2R which doesn’t follow the ones you seem to gossip about.
Just because Grim Dawn is bigger doesn’t make it any less over D2R.
I remain untouched with my opinion D2R hands down, better than D3 D4 and your most favourite game in your collection, the one and only, undisputed Diablo Immortal lol
Games are about having fun, right? And what is fun is subjective.
If you think it is fun to do an axe and shield bash barbarian with crafted hit power boots and janking around in nightmare, so be it. You can be creative in diablo 3 too, just don’t play the seasonal set - and play torment II
