Grim Dawn in a table-top RPG?!

That’s right! Well, kinda. A few good friends and I really love table-top roleplay. And seeing as I’m obsessed with Grim Dawn and really dig it’s lore, we’ve decided to make it our setting! You can catch our latest session here, if you’re interested in checking it out.

Now, we’re using the Savage Worlds Deluxe system to make it work. It’s setting-agnostic, so it was perfect to immerse us into Cairn’s lore.

In terms of lore, I’ve actually decided to try and explore the months leading up to the Grim Dawn. I’m using all the lore available to try piece together some kind of credible story for what might have happened. To make it totally clear, I’m not trying to assert any of this as cannon or make the game’s writers mad. It’s just a really fun “era” of the story to explore. In particular, I’ve started the party out in Darkvale, pre-Dawn. There’s a lot of great notes you can find which paint quite a vivid picture of what was going down. It’s a great point to get the game rolling so we can build up from there.

Anyway, just wanted to share in case anyone might be interested in tuning in, or if you’ve got your own tabletop stories to share!

Cheers, yo!

I have been a table-top RPG player for years. But I never played over the internet. Have you been using Google Hangout?

Two hours seems to be short a RPG session, which is good in this case. I try to find some time to listen to the recording.

We actually use roll20. It’s purpose-built for play over the Internet

Yeah, 2 hours can be on the short side. But with conflicting schedules it’s the most we can manage right now. Still, we have fun!

Wow, that is actually pretty impressive. So far I didn’t play much tabletop rpg’s but I know the effort all the participants have to put in. Especially the game master (the right word?). And you had to build a whole new game…wow.

Just stumbled on this being streamed

Google led me here, still trying to figure out exactly what this is.
