Hey guys. Didn’t see an technical support on forum so I am posting it here. Long story short. After more than 30 years I moved from windows to linux as first linux is better optimized for amd and windows refused to detect my ssd. didn’t want to install or reset my windows after a Bsod so I switched over. Anycase…
I tried to install Grim Dawn. It starts and then stuck on load screen. It may be that I am installing it to my old ntfs drivers. I need to buy an external so I can backup everything and completely convert to linux.
Any way to get this to work on Linux or do I have to install it on my main drive which is my ssd? my ssd size is only 120gb so usually just use it for OS and my programs.
I’m assuming you mean that you pointed Steam to install it on a drive that is still technically formatted for “windows”?
Might not be a good idea from my thinking but the fact that it even launched at all (if true) is a little surprising.
The very obvious thing to do here is to move the GD install to your SSD and actually test if it runs without issue. The results of this test will speak for itself about whether it is even a drive location issue at all, which at this juncture is rather large assumption.
Also are you using Valve’s Proton programme for linux users for gaming?
ah let me test. Thank you… I am planning to get and external and backup everything then redo all drives to linux. My 1 drive are 10 years old and I never redid her. I never had a reason to.
EDIT: Ok Got it sorted. I reinstalled it via Lutris.
