Hello, Grim Dawn community!
I hope you’re all doing great.
My name is Miguel, I’m a Portuguese computer science student and for the past months I’ve been working on my master’s thesis.
This thesis essentially focuses on video game player experience and on the concept of “shared discovery” in ARPGs, which is related to how in-game information is conveyed.
With this in mind, I’ve been modding Grim Dawn and I’ve now reached a critical portion of my work: user testing. In other words, I’m inviting people to play a small in-game quest in a modded version of Grim Dawn (Raven Mod) and answer a questionnaire regarding their experience. This sequence takes around 45 minutes.
Since this is an academic study, all the gathered data is completely anonymous and will be eliminated after the evaluation is concluded. We also ask participants to complete the whole evaluation in a single sitting (without interruptions), without consulting any supporting informative media (e.g.: Grim Dawn Wikis, guides, tutorials) and preferably in a calm environment, so they can focus on the study’s questions.
And this is where I believe all of you can help me! I’m looking for players who would like to participate in this study and contribute to the video game academic research landscape. Every piece of data and feedback is fundamental!
All you need to participate is to have the latest (English language) version of Grim Dawn installed on a Windows OS.
If you’re interested in contributing to my research, please follow this link: https://forms.gle/uTuRKHsGp4nRjaaRA
I’m entirely available to tackle any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you so much in advance!
